Today we’d like to introduce you to Damon Hayes.
Damon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
What I’ve learned so far is to never lose faith, your back can be against the wall but God will never put too much on your plate that you can’t handle. Grind, Pray, & Faith that’s the three words I always lived by. I am not afraid to fail because failure is gonna make me a better man prepare me for today, tomorrow & the near future. In 2017, I moved to Atlanta from Lafayette Louisiana with just $100 in my pocket.
To be successful you have to be willing to take risk, you’ll find yourself gambling a lot & risking it all on yourself but you can’t be scared. I’m never backing down. I’ve been betting on myself for years & It won’t be any different in 2020. I was sleeping on my best friend couch looking for barbershops to cut in & now in 2020, I’m getting ready to open my own & worked on several movie sets since then such as Goosebumps 2, & Jungle Cruise just to name a few. Never let them tell you what you can’t do, my story is still being written. Much success to everyone, I wanna see everyone win.
Has it been a smooth road?
Obstacles & Challenges, I feel like there have been plenty… Just rebuilding a clientele when I moved here two years ago was a challenge for me, finding shops to work with me until I build a clientele. Long as your passionate about what you do & never lose the drive, never put your foot on the brake & always keep God & Faith, you can do no wrong. With God by your side, who can be against you?
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Gentlemen’s Loft story. Tell us more about the business.
So I started a brand/business called The Gentlemen’s Loft… We specialize in top-notch grooming for men… When I moved to Atlanta I said to myself “There’s a lot of barbers in Atlanta, I have to separate myself from others by doing what you don’t find in your everyday barbershop”. Here at The Gentlemen’s Loft We just want men to feel comfortable & make sure they’re getting an experience of a lifetime. Customer service over barbering… You can be a great barber & have real bad customer service so here at The Gentlemen’s Loft we’re making sure everything balances out…
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan is to have plenty of Gentlemen’s Loft locations around the globe… I plan on putting out a hair care line for men for there beard care needs.
