Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Kay.
Dani, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Denver, Colorado and spent the most of my childhood and teen years there before moving to Charlotte, NC. My youth and formidable years were difficult at times but overall helped prepare me for adulthood. After high school, I went into the workforce and moved into the sales arena. Being in sales helped me to open up and really hone the business and networking skills I would need to find success in my later business career. In my 20s, I was focused on building my career in sales and raising my three sons. I have always had family who worked in or had connections in the entertainment business which helped to spark my curiosity in getting in the business myself. I started out helping some friends promote their albums and studios, then went on to work on a Podcast with another friend of mine.
From there, I began networking the industry and everything began to blossom. Most recently in the past two years, I moved to ATL and started working with promotion and Marketing for RapPlug which led to connections that allowed me to partner with Aerial Affairs. I then decided to launch my own PR and Management firm “DO THE MOST MEDIA, and now represent several trending artists and comedians. I am also a production assistant on The Shuvar Rodgers Project a syndicated radio show that broadcasts in Atlanta and several other major markets.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No journey in life is an exact smooth road. I’ve faced challenges in my life with relationships, friendships dealing with abuse and other issues. My mindset has always been doing what’s necessary now so that my future can be stronger and brighter. I once had someone explain to me that “Integrity is doing what you said you would do even when the feeling to do it has left you” and I have always stuck to that. People know they can count on me for that reliability of doing what I say I am going to do and that has helped me to have the right people places and things to make those rough patches a little smoother.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up as an only child. Like many kids that grew up around just their parents I was mature, or so I thought lol. For all intents and purposes, I was a typical midwestern teen, I had my group of friends, we would do sleepovers, go to the mall, etc. Even at that time, I knew that I wanted to do something different, something bigger than just going to school and getting a job after college. Life took me on a few twists and turns but I ended up on the path I needed to be on.
