Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Green.
Daniel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hey, what’s up? My name is Daniel Green. I’m 26 years old, and I’m a creative director from Charleston, SC. I earned my associate’s degree in commercial graphics at Trident Tech. I started my professional career while I was working full time at a call center. I worked there for five years while I went to school and freelanced in between. I lost that job, so at the scariest point of my life, I decided to pursue an artistic career full time. Since then, I started making videos to promote my photoshoots. My videos were so good. They became in high demand for other things such as music videos, commercials, live recordings, short films, etc. This came at the right time, so I was able to grow my self taught video production skills while I also grew a platform on Instagram using the “stories” feature to document my life. If it’s not my work, this is definitely what I’m known the most for. So today, I use my platform to document the lifestyle changes I make to result in the growth of my career, I crack jokes, I share valuable insight, promote small businesses, I give a humorous understanding of Gullah Geechie and Charleston culture on my platform, and remind those that may have forgotten that just like all others, black lives matter.
Has it been a smooth road?
I went through so much, making it this far man. I may sound like your old math teacher, but I use to walk several miles to get around when I didn’t have it like that. When I lost that call center job, I took several Ls trying to make it as a full time creative. I drove hooptie after hooptie, with all kinds of issues like no brakes, no back glass, overheating problems, and even had to ask a client for gas money to make it home from a gig I was hired for one time. Even eviction notices and stuff, I dealt with that too. I had to learn a lot about what it takes to run a business, which I quickly learned is much different than freelancing a project here and there.
I learned a lot about personal development, figuring out how to do this business thing. I developed a habit of giving myself daily constructive criticism but most importantly, celebrating EVERY little victory I got. I’ve just always been humble… I still get excited when I impress people with my work, I still get the same excitement when someone inquires my services, and I’m always flattered when I’m recognized by someone in public for my work. By admitting to my flaws, I was able to overcome them. Doing that made me develop a better, more positive mindset, achieve a better lifestyle, and with my business being a direct reflection of my life, my business grew before my eyes in ways I could have never imagined. It’s all about your mindset man. You can do anything you put your mind to. REGARDLESS of your situation. When you learn to control your mind, you gain control of your future… “Periodt” lol
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Art Of Daniel Green is an umbrella term used to describe the diversity of creative art I specialize in. Known the most for my video production, I use my photography and graphic design skillsets to generate conceptual ideas and bring a vision to life. I create music videos, commercials, branding projects, shows, etc. to provide an influential aesthetic to an individual or brand looking to stand out with luxury creativity. I would have to say that my humble, fun, hilarious but down to earth personality is what sets me apart from others. People like to work with someone that’s dope and also fun to be around. I would say that the thing I’m most proud of with my company is my ability to inspire others and teach them how to chase their dreams as well.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I have really big dreams man. Within the next decade, I will rewrite the work atmosphere and culture associated with “jobs” and create a place that embraces artists to become everything they desire at a powerhouse for top-shelf, creative marketing content. We’re going to have a lot of fun doing it and become the greatest versions of ourselves even outside of work. I’ll be focusing a lot on my own projects as well, producing blockbuster productions for my “just for fun” projects. I can’t wait, honestly.
