Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Inman.
Hi Daniel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well I Got into a little bit of trouble back in 2009 and I had to go sit down (in jail) for a while. While being there, I started contemplating different ways on how I needed to put my life back together for my next steps -so I started strategizing and plotting. One day while down, I needed a haircut but didn’t wanna go to the barber there because at the time the barber that was cutting where I was definitely TRASH! Make a long story short, I tried to cut my hair myself and… and that was the worst mistake ever. No clippers were needed for this mistake, lol, just a comb and a razor. Talking about patch, I gave myself a straight up bald spot right on the crown of my head but that’s when my barber journey started! 12-13 years later, I have since acquired my Master Barbers License and built Supreme Barbershop which has been in business going on four years now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a rocky road. Full of ups and down. One of my biggest obstacles AND lessons through experience how not to go into a partnership when it comes to business!. I have faced many challenges and a big one was learning the business side of a barbershop and how to manage people. Also knowing that you’re solely responsible for everything pertaining to the business! Sometimes it can seem like a burden but you know what they say “Heavy is The Head That Wears the Crown”
