Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Simeon.
Daniel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I was in love with words and music. I started my journey early writing poetry often to reiterate what I was feeling inside, never knowing it was going to develop a strange fascination for audio engineering and space where music became my diary to anyone who would listen. With a core in literature, writing music was only the beginning thread to a completed rap sheet for me. I was inspired by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland and rappers like Jay-Z, 2Pac, Eight ball & MJG, TI and lots of others.
I picked up the craft of making beats with my Lil brother Samson (Make You Def), who had a wide range of playing different instruments and taught me the basics where it grew to be making and producing beats on my own. While my brother Samson Simeon (Make You Def) kept band classes, I often kept choir classes and sang in the local church choir as a lead tenor for Pastor, Darrell Johnson. Spent time traveling to different churches and singing in homeless shelters and nursing homes. At the time of my first recordings with Miami production studios Sledge Hammer Productions ran by Merch Millions, I became a student to Merch after a few records. I often spoke to Merch Millions for advice using pro-tools before using the DAW I use now. Still, It wasn’t until I a few notaries that I realized that writing and rapping music was only breaking the ice for me, Spending time recording my homeboys and myself gave me the needed practice to establish myself as an all-around producer. Still, I needed more, so I decided to pursue a dream of being the best media engineer and fell in love with mixing completely. Something about taking nothing and producing rhythm and feeling to convey an emotion drives me. Although I had gone to college for Mass Communication and Journalism when I wanted to be a writer, it only leads me to further my craft with more education by getting my Bachelor’s for Music Engineering and Sound Design from A.I.U Atlanta with my good friend Neneitha Charlotin.
Supporting and encouraging great music lead me to work with many talented individuals from different cultures, races & locations. Music is a universal language that I’m fluent in, and I take pride in it. In 2019, I decided to start my own multimedia Legal Liability Company along with my brother as a partner naming it Clear House Studio where my first official Tape was released A.S.H (All She Has) Volume 1 where I made the compositions, mixed and mastered the entire project along with Oliver’s debut Haitian American EP “You.”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road; there are always ups and downs. People come, and people go. Emotions between friends and lovers and often timing sometimes aren’t right. I got the Doctor Dre Syndrome, meaning it takes me a bit, and I lose myself in chasing that perfect sound, and often, patience is not everybody’s cup of tea.
Please tell us about your work.
