Daniel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Opened up in 1997. Wanted to employ people and help people fix and make their pool easier to take care of.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In our field there is so much demand. Always has been a pretty smooth road.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Summer Breeze Pool & Spa – what should we know?
The 2 locations test water. Water balance is critical. It makes the pool or spa last longer and make it comfortable for the swimmer. We sell a lot of chemicals. Chemicals keep the water sanitized and keeps algae out. The equipment is important to keep the water clear also (pumps, filters, salt units). We renovate and repair pools. Installing new liners, safety covers, heaters. Repairing electrical. We don’t pressure our customers. We sell them what their pool needs. We have been in business over 20 years. We know the best products to sell and know what we are doing. Don’t be fooled by someone working out of their truck. They are the ones that can mess things up the most. We do a lot of repairs from their mistakes.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We train our staff. If we don’t know the answer, we investigate the options and proceed with a plan. We don’t make things up as we go at the expense of the home owner.
