Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Brown.
Danielle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
So, I began doing makeup eight years ago as a way to just make money and in the very beginning, I had no intentions of taking it as far as I have or even as far as I dream to take it. I had a love for beauty..and was poor that’s it. That alone pushed my passion to work for me.
I started like most artists roaming the videos of YouTube, recreating looks and testing out the latest trends on my own face.
And before I knew what was doing, I began taking clients! Making my friends and family appear to have ghostlike features lol! I was horrible! In the midst of this, I knew I had to level up. I invested in my career by taking classes with some of the best in the industry to add value to my craft and take the prices up!
Fast forward to now. Owner of Makeup Craze Beauty, makeup studio and facial spa based in Jacksonville, FL. There are five Esthetician’s who work with me. These ladies continue to help me grow and push my brand to higher heights!
Because of such a wonderful team, I’m able to pursue more of my personal goals of Being a traveling Educator and Blogger.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been very HARD to say the least. I joke a lot but every day, I question if I chose the right career. Like, Is this really for me? Many sacrifices. Many No’s. Many times where stuff just didn’t work. I’ve had a bunch of loses. Loses that should have taken me out.
This is actually my second salon. The first one was lost in 2017 when Hurricane Irma hit Jacksonville. We lost almost everything in the storm surge. Six months later…new location. Everything new. It’s true. Sometimes you have to lose to win again.
I’m so thankful that I trusted God’s vision for my life because the new location wouldn’t be, especially after that.
Please tell us about Makeup Craze Beauty.
Makeup Craze Beauty is a makeup studio and facial spa. We specialize in Makeup, Skincare, Brow waxing, Lash Extensions, Microblading, Microshading and we teach! We teach women how to apply makeup on themselves and we also train artists and Estheticians on new services.
I’m most proud that we are deep into skincare and we are helping our beauties realize the importance of healthy skin and taking care of the real foundation before even applying makeup. WE have been recognized by a host of magazines and been nominated for awards for giving our clients our absolute best!
As the owner and mentor at Makeup Craze Beauty, I’m most proud of my team because they truly are professionals who take the services they provide very seriously. As a team, we are always pushing each other to be better! WE simply grow and GLOW together.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My fav concerning my career is always getting in trouble for wearing makeup lol OR arching my eyebrows too early. I remember even relaxing my hair EARLY! But I realize now, it was all a part of my journey as a creative and artist. I loved this beauty thing before I even knew it!
