Meet Danielle Williams-McCord of DWM Ministries in Duluth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Williams-McCord.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Before I became an Evangelist, I was in the porn industry, I was a stripper, I was a drug addict, a drug dealer and I roamed the streets of Compton California; but I always tell people there is always a story behind everybody’s situation, so before I became the porn star and the stripper, I was a little girl.

I was a little girl who grew up in a very dysfunctional household with an abusive father, I was molested at 8 years old by my babysitter’s son, my father who is Bipolar and Schizophrenic tried to kill me when I was 10 years old. I was raped by a neighbor at 12 years old, at 13, I got pregnant by 27 years old pimp, at 14 years old, I ran away and started stripping in the nightclubs. When I turned 15 years old, I was introduced to prostitution by my choir member at my church, she not only introduced me to prostitution, but she also introduced me to drugs. I became addicted to cocaine and ecstasy pills. I joined the porn industry at 18 years old and that is when a man flew me from Los Angeles to New York City where he locked me up in a basement and beat me; he raped me, he tortured me and I knew that I was going to die. But because I never left the church, something in me said, pray and I prayed like I never pray before and said, “Lord if you get me out of this, I’ll change my life for you, just don’t let me die.” A few days later, I got out of that basement and flew back to LA and I never looked back again. After I got my healing and deliverance, I started telling my testimony which turned into a ministry and a mentorship program, I wrote the book from Porn To The Pulpit which has now become a stage play also titled From Porn To The Pulpit.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not and still is not a smooth road. I’ve had many challenges within myself, learning to live with the choices and decisions that I made. Learning how to forgive was a challenge and I don’t mean just forgiving other people, but actually forgiving myself. When I first started telling my testimony “church folks” treated me so bad, I was an outcast even in ministry because I didn’t look like the average Preacher and I didn’t come from a squeaky clean background, so a lot of churches wouldn’t even allow me in their pulpits. Not being taken seriously as a challenge and being looked down on, but the moment I forgave myself and realized that had I not gone through those things, I wouldn’t be who I am today and once I got delivered from the opinions of people, I overcame every struggle.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about DWM Ministries – what should we know?
DWM Ministries does so much in ministry in and outside of the four walls of the church. We specialize in “getting our hands dirty”, we touch those that don’t nobody else want. We minister to the rejects, the lost, the drug addicted, the prostitutes, the “EVERYBODY” that the church has sent to help and Evangelist Danielle Williams-McCord does it by using her own testimony to relate and give hope to the people. My model is everybody may not come to a church or a revival or a conference, so how do we reach those kinds? That’s where the book and the stage play comes in. I’ve learned to take ministry into the marketplace.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Jesus and Jesus alone.
