Hi Darlene, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my nail/entrepreneur journey back in 2020, in Jacksonville Florida! I started with a vision and a plan! I have always been into beauty, hair, nails, dressing up, etc. One day, I was just thinking why not use my talent and get paid for it? I’m great at what I do but I didn’t fall in love with it until I got back into it!
I started by practicing and playing around with my little sisters and friends, and decided to take a nail class to get it down packed, once I did that I had a plan to not give up I can see myself doing this and loving it!
Days and months went by and I started being late to my actual job, from doing nails LOL my GM used to always tell me to just, work for myself I still didn’t listen I was scared, but I finally got the courage to just finally leave and start full time which is the best decision I ever made!
I’m not just saying this I really mean this is the best decision I ever made doing nails full time! Now, I’m also teaching/mentoring other aspiring nail techs and young ladies how to do nails!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can say it has not been a smooth road, but always say it’s worth it! If you love something so bad no matter how long it takes you to get it right you can never give up it’s something you have to do & get!
Some of the struggles were trying to get my business started, trying to gain clientele, trying to keep a steady clientele, and knowing that having a business you have good and bad days, you just have to know how to handle it but I can also say my bad days made me have a lot of good days I can think more I can create more things within my business for my slow days!

I am a licensed nail tech/mentor I give some of the rawest nail sets near you, I also teach and mentor aspiring nail techs I specialize in giving my best when I’m providing a service no matter what it is!
Most people know me as smiley Klawed by Smiley that do the nails and her classes are always great, also some people may know me for my press-on nail vending machine! I’m very passionate and deeply care for my business and what I do nails and teaching how to do nails just eases my mind everything it comes with is worth it I will never give up on my vision!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love everything about the city! I have no regrets, or anything bad to say about it!
