Darrius, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Raised in Chicago, I always wanted to be an entrepreneur since I was a kid singing to make a couple of dollars or getting good grades in school to earn money from family. Like most though, I didn’t know the true ends and outs of operating a business. So I had a lot of trials and errors when starting my own business. I attempted different ventures from a T-shirt company, real estate, trucking, etc. I wanted to be great with my business but the number one issue I had was no money.
Then I heard people mention credit and the power it had. I didn’t know much about it Because growing up credit wasn’t talked about much in my environment when it was people always gave a negative prospective about it. For that reason, I didn’t feel it was important enough… Until one day, someone presented me the importance of credit. After months of learning, I started fixing my own credit and by learning the tricks and tools to remove my negative items and add lines of credit to increase my credit to elite status. Today I am helping individuals and families by providing my credit repairing service with my company Shift Financial Consulting to get them to higher credit scores.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, there have been struggles along the way. It was difficult finding my path to entrepreneurship. Since I didn’t know how to start a business or run a business it took a lot to find a business I connected with. I was led all my life to believe that life was me going to school get a degree and get a job. Not saying that was a bad idea but I just didn’t connect with it. Then I tried business with friends and that was the blind leading the blind. So I decided to take a year and try as many businesses I wanted by myself which lead me to my next struggle. I went through lack of support from family and friends. The lack of support was so real they wouldn’t even share a single post on social media. When I was trying to promote my business, also I went through many trials seeking knowledge from some mentors who claimed to give me the “Sauce”. But in reality, they gave me was bare minimum Information. After those struggles, it’s been a great road for me. I embraced the journey and everything that comes with it.

Shift Financial Consulting is a business that offers Consultations for people who need help with repairing their credit. We also offer tax preparation and Insurance. But we are known for our credit restoration programs. I’m most proud of the fact that we are in the position to help people change lives. Like I get a joy seeing people scores increase. And even more joy when they are finished with the program. What sets us apart is we are a people first business. We are understanding. We keep ourselves in a humbled position because like many of us. Unexpected situations happen… So we work with our clients by creating options that benefit them. We also believe that we don’t want our clients to be with us forever so we are determined to get them to their ideal score. We also offer opportunities for clients to make money from the company as well. With our affiliate program… We also are offering a mentorship and an opportunity to become a partner with the company. The partnership offers knowledge on how to properly fix a credit report, how to prepare taxes and sell life insurance. We teach people to become one stop shop to help better their communities.
