Today we’d like to introduce you to Darynn.
Hi Darynn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an entertainer and entrepreneur hailing from Beaufort, South Carolina. I sing, dance, model, and act. I’ve been singing and dancing since I was in elementary school. I’m a classical trained dancer and vocalist. I’m a graduate of the South Carolina State University. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. I am the CEO and founder of SKYNN by Darynn, a multicultural skin care brand. My brand has been up and running for 5 years now. Throughout the past few years I became a viral sensation on TikTok and social media influencer. I’ve been fortunate enough to walk the runway during LA Fashion Week twice as well as model for brands. I’ve done background acting in various films and TV shows.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. In fact, it’s still being driven. I’ve always been the individual to take the road less traveled. Being a content creator is challenging. You never know what your audience with like or relate to. Having an audience that loves what I create and support it is the best feeling ever. Also, with being an entrepreneur, it can be hard sometimes pushing yourself and your brand solely on your own. But, it’s rewarding having something that you worked hard to build and can call your own.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a creative. A jack of all trades. I sing, dance, model, act, choreograph, write, style, direct and much more. I do it all. I also operate my own skin care business, SKYNN by Darynn. I’m most known for being viral on TikTok. I’m most proud of my being a creative and being able to share what I bring to the table with the world. What sets me apart from others is my gift, talent, and personality.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk taking can be a challenge, but if you don’t take the risk, you’ll never know what you could conquer. I’ve taken many risks by following my dreams, posting content, and even starting a business. I would definitely consider myself a risk taker. I believe that there’s nothing that you can’t do. If you can dream it, you can do it. If God gave you a vision, then there’s a way to it. Don’t be afraid of taking risks. Be afraid of living in regret.
