Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some of the struggles I faced along the way, were when I relocated from NYC to Atlanta, I had to start all over, I was a new face and a new name in a new city. I did a lot of work for free and for credit. I sacrificed a lot of my time and personal finances into growing the business. I also had to make my prices match the new market I was in and not lose the integrity of my brand. There were times my roommate and I ate sunflower seeds for dinner because I was sowing into my brand. I had to realize that investing in my brand was important. I was not able to afford a website designer or a PR so I learned how to build My own website and how to become my own advocate and promote my brand.

David Anthony image consulting – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company is a one stop shop for a diverse clientele offering a myriad of services. I also offer services like, personal shopping, wardrobe closet makeovers, wardrobe styling and coordination for tv and movies, music videos, and photo shoots. And personal makeovers.

What sets me apart is, my clients and I connect on a different level it is important to have a connection beyond the clothing meaning, I don’t just focus on labels and trends, I focus on what is for you specifically that will give you and your brand a classic and lasting style history.

I am known for going above and beyond and showing up and being present and staying in the moment, being able to make sure that you are getting the attention to detail for your brand or that special moment.

I am most proud of being able to walk in my purpose and bring my gifts to others to help level up and enhance and step outside of their box. I aim to be impactful and to help my clients elevate their brands and their purpose through fashion and style. I’m also proud to have been able to give back by styling cancer survivors.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
GOD gets all the clout. Yet It takes a faith filled village and the power of agreement in order for any business to grow and, I have been blessed with a great village. I’m so grateful for the village. I have been given the best and most consistent, spiritual and professional guidance from Melinda Brundidge owner of Melin Michelle Planning Management & Design Group, who has also trusted me to style one of her management clients Peggy Clemons. My best friend Janel who lives in NYC is always on the phone with sound spiritual advice and unconditional guidance for me both professional and personal and has been by my side for years as I’ve achieved success. Danny Jackson who has been on my team for 8 years, helping me style, and assisting me when needed, all while launching his own brand of Accessories Ascension By Danny J, that I have used in a lot my styling work. Of course my family is extremely encouraging and supportive and helps me stay grounded in reality.

I’ve worked with the best photographers like Dorian Owens (unhindered creations) Richard Anthony Evans photography, Blair Devereaux ofPheauxtography, Richard Dominguez of Richard images Weldon bond, black tie photography, and apple head photography and design makeup artist Ayasha Sydelle who is a beast with the makeup brush. The designers that have blessed me to be able to pull from their collections to style my clients, like Gayla Rogers of Gayla Rogers Collections, Alex Holliman of Farrier Bell Couture, & Vanessa Henderson of Van Miller International. I was blessed to be given advice and the opportunity to work at Jeffreys fashion cares by Dr Courtney A Hammond’s.

Having diverse clients that challenge and stretch me professionally who trust me with their purpose as their image consultant, such as Model & Actor AhKuoi, & Taylormade Film Company, who hires me to do wardrobe on all of their film tv and music productions. Jarvis Mccolumn who designed my amazing logo and created my business cards. without them I would be walking this road alone. I’m forever grateful for all I’m graced to do and who I’m graced to do it with.
