Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
One of the biggest struggles was opening the clinic in 2009 at the peak of the recession and I was 27 with no business experience. Every bank turned down my request for a business loan.
I fortunately was able to scrounge up $35,000 in credit cards, which got the doors open. I had to work 80 hour weeks as I couldn’t afford staff for the first 3 months until I paid off the credit cards and had a little cash in the bank.
Fortunately, it all worked its way out and I was able to get off to a great start, had a highly profitable year and was able to hire in great staff over the next several years that still work and operate the clinic to this day.
