Hi Dawn R, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My company is Grub for Dogs. It is a pet food supply company. I formulated a pet food product by using human grade ingredients which is considered to be healthier for dogs.
I saw commercials & ads similar to the product that I offered but however I was not aware of any companies that were in Georgia. So ready, set, go; I set a goal to create my company. I did my research, made my contacts, and the rest is history.
To be perfectly honest, I reported to a job daily that was very unsatisfying at a call center & I dreamed of having and wanting more. I was very appreciative for having the job but knew I was destined for more. I already had my hand in two other businesses which has prospered over the years. However, while I live a comfortable life operating the two other businesses, I also know that you have to wear different hats to make it in this world these days.
In my opinion, I am one of the most humble people that you will ever meet due to all aspects of my life. I am very grateful for very dollar that I make whether a person spends a dollar or several dollars cause that is a dollar(s) they could have spent somewhere else but yet spent it with me. I am very appreciative.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I started Grub for Dogs, I was encountered by obstacles due to creating this business during Covid 2020. I researched the ingredients that were to be formulated for the dog food. I took the necessary steps in order to make my product available to the public. I had to get my product lab tested and licensed with different companies with the state due to regulations. The process was a long drawn-out process due to the shutdown because of Covid. But I made it happen!! I have been so proud of my accomplishments.

How does your dog grub?
Grub for Dogs is a company that provides a human grade dog food. Research of the Ingredients has been conducted and has been formulated offering dogs an alternative option. The ingredients include boneless chicken breasts, brown rice, spinach, carrots, and green peas. The product’s name is “For the Love of Cluck”. We offer an 8 oz. container of the product. Grub for Dogs also offers other items for purchase which includes treat boxes, goody bags, road trip bags, and picnic boxes for trips to the park. All of the items available will include the dog food product.
Grub for Dogs is available on DoorDash for deliveries. On Doordash all the items for sale will be listed.
“For the Love of Cluck” dog food recipe has been lab tested, analyzed for crude nutritional facts, and has been approved by GA Department of Agriculture for the feed license.
