Today we’d like to introduce you to Déja Dalina.
Déja is an R&B/Neo-Soul singer who is undeniably authentic in her singing and songwriting. Heavily influenced by R&B from the 90’s and early 2000’s, she grew up admiring performers like Aaliyah, Mya, and SWV. Déja started performing at the age of four and wrote her first song at 15. Born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised between Virginia and North Carolina, Déja grew up singing but started pursuing modeling instead around age 16, when she resided in Atlanta for one year.
In 2014, she dropped out of college and made her way back to Atlanta to continue pursuing her dream of modeling. However, in the summer of that same year, Déja began to reconnect with her first love of music and started vocal lessons with a pastor who believed in her. When producer C Millz bought her a studio session, her candle was lit by the feeling of being in the booth.
Déja continued to be persistent in following her dreams of becoming a performer, and in February 2018, released her first project, Moonchild: New Moon. The expressive, soulful, melodious tape introduces Déja to the world like the loving, passionate and intuitive Cancer that she is.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. There has been plenty of losing “friends” and “family” and financial hardship. There’s been so much!

I also act. I am extremely proud of myself for being a go-getter, taking risks and just doing it.
We are all individuals, so just being Déja Dalina is what sets me apart from others.

I love the culture! Automatically my favorite thing about the A. I hate the traffic & gentrification.
