Meet Demarco Lawrence

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Demarco Lawrence. Demarco was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jeremiah Jacksun.

Hi Demarco , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today, it’s really appreciated. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, in the Bowen Homes Projects. My love for dancing started when I was 17 years old. I saw a guy named James Carter dancing at the Boys & Girls Club and I was really impressed by his style and the artistry of his moves. I wanted to be able to dance like that, so I began practicing. Additionally, after watching the movie Step Up 3, I felt a connection to the character Moose, who was played by Adam Sevani. Shortly after, Les Twins and Fickshun showed me how to be creative with my dancing.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
Dance is my passion and my profession. I’ve been dancing for most of my life and it’s always been a huge part of who I am. I’ve danced in music videos for artists like “Highness- Bucks (Run It Up)” and “SoQi- Free To Be Me”, and I’ve also done a lot of dance challenges. I think what sets me apart is my ability to use dance as a tool to express myself and help others. Dance has always been a way for me to relax and be free, and I love being able to share that with other people.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Jeremiah Jacksun and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Jeremiah.
It was a pleasure to work with Jeremiah Jacksun. He is a true professional and his energy is simply contagious. I benefited greatly from knowing him and I’m sure anybody else who has the chance to work with him will have just as positive of an experience. He introduced me to some important contacts in the entertainment industry that have helped me out or given me guidance along my dancing journey. I experienced his ability to execute his vision firsthand when we shared the stage at a Music Business Conference in Atlanta about a year and a half ago. Since then, he’s been a constant mentor for me and just a positive light in my life. You just don’t come across too many genuine people who are willing to help you without expecting anything in return, so I feel very lucky to have crossed paths with Jeremiah.
