Hi Demetrius, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started our company with a vision to becoming a black *owned luxury fashion house.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is not a smooth road.. So of course, it’s not a smooth road *in business. The struggles keep you humble and it gives you character.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the owner/founder of a luxury fashion brand, “GHSL WEAR®”… I run the day to day business of the company.. I also design and make orders to our manufacturer.. I am known as the guy who “Grind Hard Sleep Less™”.. Our official trademark and slogan.. Our company G.H.S.L. is an acronym *and it stands for, “Grind Hard Sleep Less™”.. You can also pronounce it as G-Hustle… I am most proud of my determination to push forward and reach my goals by any means necessary.. I think my drive sets me apart from others. Where *others would have given up or changed their business model.. I did not.. I knew what I wanted from the beginning and I wouldn’t compromise on my dream..
What do you like and dislike about the city?
The city of Atlanta is so diverse.. And it’s so historically important to my culture.. Being a part of Atlanta socially, helps me push the narrative that as a black designer I can be put right beside any fashion house and hold our own… Atlanta gives you power because it is the home of music and film now. So why not take advantage of that spotlight and show what we have to offer to the world.
