Meet Denis Morozov of Child Care Cooperative in Norcross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denis Morozov.

Denis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Sasha and I are married for 16 years. We have been dreaming the idea of starting a family business for quite some time. We had a few ideas, but until 2015, it was mostly a theoretical discussion. There were two events, or rather, two people who finally got us out of fantasizing about a business to actively pursuing it. In summer 2015, Sasha and I attended a four-day seminar, Unleash the Power Within, or UPW. Once we got back, we started working on our business plan and refining the value proposition of our business. Then in 2016, while completing our evening MBA program at Emory Goizueta Business School, we took two entrepreneurship classes taught by Professor Charles Goetz. He became an incredible mentor and advisor to us. Attending UPW helped us get confidence in our abilities to run a successful business and working with Charlie gave us necessary tools and directions to get us there.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth. Gaining customers trust as a new start up was probably the most difficult part. We were fortunate to get support from a great organization, Quality Care for Children (“QCC”) and Pam Tatum, the CEO of QCC, early on. This great non-for-profit organization works closely with the State to provide training and resources to child care providers to increase the overall quality of care. We got our first paid customer in November 2016. To build trust we were offering a month of free services for all our clients so they can see firsthand the value that we bring to their center. Upon completion of the free trial we are happy to report that to date we have 100% conversion rate to paid customers.
