Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Pruett.
Dennis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Workers Warriors and Winners began when I came across a Gofundme page for an old friend that needed some work done on his home to make it handicap accessible. My friend has been in a wheel chair since his teen years. He has MD but has never let it beat him. When I see the page, God spoke to me and said “go help him and see it through to the end.” That was the beginning of the ministry. We have become a ministry that is primarily bringing help to the handicapped and also to foster families. We are not contractors. We simply come along side people that are in need and help with whatever we are able to do. The driving force behind the ministry is God’s Word in
1 John 3:11 that says: For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Also in James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Anything that causes us to step outside the daily routine of our own “comfort zone” is never easy. To do what we do is a sacrifice unto the Lord Jesus Christ. All of our volunteers work regular jobs. So, to get up early on a Saturday and go work 10 to 12 hours is tough. Tough but WORTH IT. We have on many occasions, started at 7 in the morning and get home at 11 at night. We regularly leave work in the afternoon and go work 3 to 4 hours on another project for someone in need. It is definitely a challenge but it offers the greatest reward I have ever received. When we lay down at night we rest in the fact that we have brought Glory to God by denying ourselves and helping someone else.
Please tell us about Workers, Warriors and Winners.
We are a ministry that cares about others. I guess our specialty is just to be there. It’s not always about the project. Sometimes it is just listening. Sometimes to pray for or with someone who feels overwhelmed with life’s circumstances. I believe that in itself is what sets us apart from others.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I have sought Godly counsel throughout the path I am on. I believe we are and have continuously walked in God’s will for the task He has laid out for us. I can honestly say that I don’t think I would change anything.

These amazing men came and expanded a bedroom in our house so we could adopt four kids. Without their help we could not have had the space we needed. I am so grateful for each one of these men and their wonderful talents and giving hearts. They did an amazing job on our house and we are so thankful!
