Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Green.
Destiny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was inspired to start doing lashes back in 2017 when I moved from Rochester, NY to Georgia. My cousin, Nicole, did my lashes back home in NY. When I moved down here, I began doing cluster lashes on myself, which Nicole had taught me. One day at work, coworkers had asked,” who did your lashes? I can see them through your glasses; they look good. Can you do mine?” and that’s where it all began. I started doing cluster, also known as individual lashes on my fellow coworkers and friends.
Eventually, the following year, I received a certification in classic eyelash extensions from Lashed by Hannah S. Hannah has been my lifetime mentor and has guided me and gave me some of the best advice during this journey of mine. I always strive to be the best person I can be and that goes for my business as well. I have a passion for beauty enhancement and love making clients feel and look beautiful. To get to where I am today, I remained consistent, never giving up, studying, learning how to perfect my craft, always being friendly to my clients and making sure they are satisfied. I am currently located in Hustle Hunnies Salon & Beauty Bar, thanks to Shakara Jones. She is truly an inspiration to me and encourages me to go harder for my business and brand.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This road has been a busy highway. Between juggling being a full-time colleges student, working two part-time jobs at one point and time and lash business has not been easy. It has been times where I worked non-stop. From doing lashes, going to work and then coming home to do homework, Getting where I am today has taken hard work and dedication, I thank God for Hannah because she helped me realize that was overworking myself. I am currently down to one job and plan on working full time for myself very soon.
Please tell us about Lashed by Des.
Lashed by Des LLC is owned and operated by myself, Destiny Z. Green. I do various types of lashes from strips, clusters, individuals and eyelash extensions. I always wax & tint eyebrows and offer other facial waxing services. Microblading will be coming next month. I also sell a variety of 100% mink eyelash strips and brow pomades.
I am known as the lash lady in town. Just how me a picture of the lashes you are looking to get, and I will deliver just that. My most favorite set do are Hybrids because it gives your lashes more depth fluffy, wispy and just more luxurious. What sets me apart from others is being able to see something and recreate a look for my client. When they open their eyes, they are always truly amazed.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I think I would have left one of my jobs sooner to focus more so on my lash business. I also would have made my website more sooner because it makes t easier for me when scheduling clients and also has brought me more clientele.
