Destiny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, I’ve always had a love for nails and anything dealing with beauty period. I always kept my nails and toes done so the nail shop environment wasn’t nothing new to me but it was so cool to me like just everything about it. I was one of those clients that asked all the question and wanted to know how everything worked because it was so interesting to me. So about a month straight, I was watching YouTube nail tutorials and stuff and I was like I am about to learn how to do nails because it had been on my mind heavy to learn.
Then one day, I just went on amazon and order a lot of nail supplies and nails kits and started practicing at home on my mannequin hand and I would post it on my social media and people would let me practice on them and it just took off from there. I’ve been doing nails now for 11 months on and off and I’ve been getting better and better. I recently just quit my job and started working in a Nail Shop full time so I’m definitely excited to see what the future holds for me!!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I mean, to be honest, I’m not gonna lie it has been a smooth ride for me SO FAR, as I said earlier I just recently started doing nails full time at first it was just whenever I felt like doing it type of thing but now that I’m doing it full time I’m sure I will come across some obstacles along the way, but I’m ready for whatever challenges that may come my way!

I am an upcoming self-taught nail technician and I specialize in doing acrylic nails. The thing that I’m most proud of about myself is my growth, seeing where I came from when I first started doing nail until now is something that keeps me motivated and keeps me going knowing that my skills are improving.
