Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Payton Williams.
Destiny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After four years and over 30 million dollars in sales for a fortune 500 company, Destiny felt it was time to take her natural talent and skills to her community and create more opportunities. As the first ever African American woman to rise to the ranks of senior management with said company, it was her dream to be the first African American beauty supply and salon suite owner. Destiny felt a strong desire to be of service to her lifelong passion outside of the real estate industry and into “All Things Beauty”. The time had come to be the creator of her own destiny and give to others as passionately as she has to her real estate career.
The inspiration for the beauty store derived from receiving a provisional patent with her then partner for developing a hair product. Upon shopping the product to distributors, it became apparent there was a lack of diversity. Destiny then realized there was a close circle that was hard to penetrate. At that moment, Destiny knew she would have to find a way or make one, and that was ownership. After long days and nights working in the corporate world, finding quality products and the perfect location, the dream of the MaDonni Beauty brand has come to life. MaDonni Beauty provides “All Things Beauty”, from a full service Beauty Supply Store to Salon Suites that provide all of your beauty care needs:
*Lash Extensions

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Lol Yet, it has been a rewarding one with much wisdom gained. The first hurdle was breaking into the beauty supply world and obtaining contracts with vendors who don’t want you in the realm of beauty supply. The largest struggle for me was working my corporate job, opening a store, and building a brand. Oh, did I mention I got married six months ago, then became pregnant a month later. So I would say my plate is somewhat full.
MaDonni Beauty – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
MaDonni Beauty is the first African American and only female owned store in my city. MaDonni Beauty Supply & Salon Suites specializes in “All Things Beauty,” The premise behind the two part entity was to have one location to have all your beauty care completed. I am a busy woman, and when I have an event to attend, I was traveling to multiple places to get hair, makeup and nails done and it can be taxing on your day. I am most proud of myself for taking the leap of faith and leaving my six figure career to develop my company. What sets me apart is my ability to find a way or make one, which is what I’ve done thus far.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success in the legacy you leave. What will people say about you when your not in the room, how do you make people feel, and how will you be remembered.
