Deundre, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, I never had dreams of doing anything I do now or would have thought these things will pay my bills. I had a friend that needed a photographer and just gave it a shot, same with graphic design and web design. I just had someone around me that needed help and just jumped at the opportunity to learn a new skill and a new way to make extra income.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s always good days and bad days, but that’s life. The biggest obstacle is just being able to push forward and never give up, even when it seems like quitting is the easiest thing to do. You have to believe in your self even when it seems like the world doesn’t want you to win. In this society, you can be anything you want.
Please tell us about FH Studios.
I wanted my business to be a one stop shop for all media needs. I provide photography, videography, graphic design and web design, all done by me. What sets me apart is the customer service that I provide, that’s second to none. I provide transparency in my work with my clients so that they’re involved in the process and understand every aspect of it. Clients get a better understanding of what it takes and also appreciate the craft even more.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Camaraderie of neighborhoods. Growing up neighborhoods treated each other like family. If you from Atlanta, you understand that you could meet someone from the same area as you and instantly seem them as a friend. You both could be from Summerhill, and automatically you see them as an ally. I loved growing up in neighborhoods and we were all friends, even closer friends than those I went to school with. The best part is it extended from the kids to their parents, where their mom would feed you just like you were one of their kids.
