Meet Devin Williams of De’Vinci in Stockbridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Williams.

Devin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started making music and producing back in 2016. I just loved making beats and songs. I loved music as a kid. My brother would always show me different types of music. I like all kinds of music i don’t stay in one area of music, I want to listen to different music and I would add it to my style. At first I never really took it seriously i would upload the song on SoundCloud and just let it be. I record my music in my basement, I taught myself how to mix and master and make beats, but I never really could rap on my own beats. Later down the road I would practice on making my quality better and get my mixing right. During this time I went through a terrible break-up, and the only thing that helped me was music. That sparked me to put my emotions in a song, and I loved it. I posted it on Soundcloud, and other big platforms and it got some attention. I noticed that music is a part of me and I put every single emotion in my songs. Leading up to where I am today id say that I just wanted to be something with my music. Make songs that people can relate to, or help get through a sad situation. I know I’m not done, yet I have plenty more goals to reach.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At one time, I thought about giving up on everything. I felt like i wasn’t good enough and more things got hard when I try to make my quality better. I only had little to work with and I thought to myself that this isn’t good enough and all my work sucks. Another thing is that trying to get my name and music out there without paid promotions. i couldn’t afford any promotions with people that had big platforms. So the only ones who were supporting me were my friends and family. I know that wasn’t enough to get myself out there. I was only known around my area a little. It was hard I thought about giving up on music and all.

Please tell us about your music.
I am a artist, I specialize in recording songs, mixing and mastering songs, and making beats. I’m known for creating songs, I’m proud of me for not giving up and keep working towards my goal. What set me apart from others is that i’m not in just one area, I make a variety of different songs. I bring in different kinds of attention with my music because of the variety of songs I produce a variety of people come and listen to.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say the role of good luck for me is having support from friends and family. They played a big role in my life and music. They always motivate me; they support my music and try to share it with everyone and post it on social media.
