Today we’d like to introduce you to Devyn Dior.
My love for content creation and social media started very early. As a young girl, I sat for hours watching YouTube videos. It had become such a habit that I would walk around the house, reenacting videos as if I was hosting one. At this point in my life, I didn’t understand that a hobby could actually become a career. For years, I dreamed. I dreamed that I was a YouTuber and content creator who made videos that influenced others.
Around the age of 15, I discovered how prominent an art fan I had become. I often would watch my father sketch and my siblings paint and draw portraits. My love for drawing and coloring expanded. Ironically, I could NOT draw to save my life. I was so upset that others could draw besides myself. So I began to look for alternatives. I decided to combine the love I have for technology with the love I have for drawing. This started my path in graphic design. While catering to my love for art, I still aspired to create content. The signs of becoming a Youtuber were evident but ignored. After months of procrastinating and attending “Youtube University” I later launched my own Graphic design business called “DigitalDiorr”, and Created my own Youtube channel on my 19th birthday. Today, I have more than 400+ subscribers on YouTube, 290k+ likes on TikTok and 4,000 (and growing) followers on Instagram.
It has not been a smooth road at all. However, my love for my craft trumps all. The only thing in the way…was me. I was always overthinking and examining “what if?” I stood, fearful of failure and embarrassment. In reality, there is no wrong route to do anything! The journey is more important than the destination. This was the best time to make mistakes and learn from them. At the end of the day, you are your biggest competitor. It’s Me vs. Me. For LIFE. As my mother always says, “The only L’s we take are lessons!”
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is traveling the world with my mom. My mom absolutely loves to travel and see the world. I got my first passport at three years old! Her goal for my siblings and I is to experience different cultures. My favorite trip was visiting Montego Bay, Jamaica. We ate authentic Jamaican food at Rick’s Cafe, visited the Mayfair falls, and talked to a local woman about how she operates and maintains her small business. This is essentially why I love travel influencers like De’arra. Traveling and exploring the world in my 20s is my destiny.
