Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Fudge.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My story doesn’t really differ from many who tend to travel somewhere they’ve never been to pursue their dreams. Mine starts in Beaver Falls, a suburb right outside the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After getting my start as a DJ in high school in the late eighties and taking it with me on my college path. I decided to take my talents south, to Atlanta, Georgia for the pursuit of a larger career in the music industry. After being here for 22 years, I’ve encountered many great creatives and have had the pleasure to be a part of many great opportunities that I don’t think I would’ve had in Pittsburgh at the time
Please tell us about your art.
I’m a DJ that paints audio pictures or sets moods with the help of other people’s creative works. I do this by allowing the energy of a room to dictate to me how I should paint that particular portrait. I truly enjoy creating, presenting, and just downright taking in the energy of the process. It’s my hope that every time someone comes into contact with my art, whether it’s live or recorded that they will walk away inspired and have enjoyed their time with my creation.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
There’s so much advice that I can share with other artists, but there’s a couple of key points that I find to be very important. The one point that I share with upcoming artists is to remain humble. In my opinion, this is something that you should consistently want to exude when encountering people. This can take you a long way while trying to share your business or art with others. Another key point of advice, that I’m even still learning after many years in this business, is to enjoy the process. If you’re truly passionate about your art and it speaks to your soul, then the process is something you should try to take time to enjoy.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I can be found foremost on my website for updates and bookings, as well as many social media and music streaming platforms. If you’re into the live experience, you can see me every 1st, 3rd, and final Friday at MJQ Concourse in downtown Atlanta.
