Meet DJ Kamm

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Kamm.

Hi DJ Kamm, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first knew I wanted to dj when I was 16 years old. My cousin was a dj and I would watch and listen to him and I was so intrigued by his skills that it made me want to start Djing as well. I started taking it seriously when I was around 22 years old and I was nervous, but I knew this was what I wanted to do. I knew That there were things I had to learn for myself all while learning from other DJs as well. I knew some family and friends wouldn’t take it seriously, but I did what I was passionate about. I’ve been blessed to be able to make it to where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I think so far the biggest struggle that I’ve had to deal with is me being my biggest critic. When I finish at the end of a gig, I always think about what I could’ve done differently. Could I have said this instead or played that song. I think about what I could possibly do different next time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a club and radio DJ and I love what I do! I DJ on multiple radio stations weekly, and I am the only female DJ with a weekly mix show on the radio in the South Georgia region. I am most proud of this because I was a full-time college student while balancing being on multiple radio stations at the same time.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
So, I don’t believe in luck, I believe in God. I believe God knows when it’s our time. He has a plan and has played a huge role in my life and business. I have of course ran into many obstacles, but I have overcome them. I have been given so many opportunities which have made me into the DJ I am today.
