Meet Derrick Finklea of Dlamont Styling Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Derrick Finklea.

Derrick, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started off doing fashion styling as a way to express myself, I was very different growing up and didn’t really know how to properly express myself without being misunderstood and fashion did just that for me. With rigorous skill and define uniqueness, I stay in my lane as a cutting edge unique stylist. It takes a lot of bravery to walk in purpose but with the help of God, I believe all things are possible! So much more to come, so much more to see.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles along the way for me was comparison, trying to stay “above” the competition, then I realized when you are being you, there is no competition.

Tell us about your business. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
Dlamont Styling Co. is a fashion experience geared to push you out of your comfort zone with up to date styling that definitely turn heads. Such as “mixing prints,” a fun way of complexing various prints to complete and absolutely amazing look!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career would have to be giving people hope through transforming their look from the inside out.
