Meet Doe “Macfly”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Doe.

Doe, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from Illinois but I have been in Atlanta since I was 12 so I’m practically raised here. I’m 26 years old. I’m a music producer. I’ve been making beats since ten years old. I started producing by sneaking in my older brothers studio when he would go to work. I use to always wanted to make beats for myself to rap on once I turned like 14 I started recording and producing for Roscoe dash, Travis Porter, Waka Flocka, 36mafia and A few more popular artist around that time. I dropped out of school in my freshman year to work full time in the studio.

My faith and belief in the music was so strong I went homeless around the time once my production career slowed down, I say around 22 years old I picked up on engineering more sessions thru out Atlanta. Which helped me shop my beats around A little more. I booked sessions all thru Atlanta mainly 11 street Studios late night early morning sessions I started working with artists such as MARLO from QC, Young Scooter, Guap Tarantino, Lil Wookie, Casino, Future, Lil DURK, King Von. Ola Runt, City Girls, Lil Baby. Present time I served a year in prison I was recently released from prison in February I also received my GED while Incarcerated, I also plan on furthering my education at full sail university. I recently received a gold record with “Crazy Story By King Von”.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I hate to admit but my road to success hasn’t been very smooth. I lost a lot of my relative’s lives and close friends due to them investing their time in the streets to support my movement. One of my close friends actually got shot while robbing someone to fund my studio sessions. I started out homeless, making music professionally around 2016. I slept and changed clothes out my Pontiac and took my showers at planet fitness for three years straight. Nobody enjoys being around a starving artist who never had a conventional job or trade. I recently went to prison in Feb 2019 – Feb 2020 in Jackson.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a music producer I am known for my dark melodic trap sound but I wanna show the world I could set the bar way higher than just a simple trap melody. I’ve produced/engineered tons of records across Atlanta over the years I feel I’ve played a minor part in morphing the sound in trap music today because of that. What sets me apart is I feel like one of the only young n****s who don’t use samples and loops while making beats today. I never needed to collab to finish a beat because I actually play every note on my midi keyboard.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I wanna thank futures Old Engineer Seth firkins for being a great mentor to me while he had the time long live Seth  big thanks to CEO Carl Mac, Alex Of OYL ent, Casino and 100k Management for putting me in positions to take my career to the next level.
