Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Bolden.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dominique. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In middle school and high school, I was always the person taking pictures and recording memories. I’ve always had a thing for taking pictures and capturing the moment just because a picture says 1000 words. It tells stories, it personifies a person’s personality through an image, and it’s everlasting. After graduating high school, I fell off the creative wheel when it came to photography. I had a daughter a couple of years later and soon got back in touch with my third eye. Today I’m pursuing a small business career called 19 Viewz Photography. Giving you the good vibes and visuals. All of this started back up.
Thanks to the motivation of my partner Jourdan I don’t think I would have even considered picking a camera back up at the time I did without him. We got the name 19 Viewz from the year 2019. That was the year when both of us lost somebody important to us and we were challenged to fight ourselves to better ourselves. Everyday we battle new things together to further our mentals, our knowledge and our experiences. They call us The Dynamic Duo, your favorite local paparazzi because when you see one of us, the other one is right there or not too far behind.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a couple of struggles along the way, from losing some of the closest people in my life and then to fighting my mental with postpartum depression and raising a beautiful baby girl on my own. I was losing my love and creativity for photography because life seemed to be getting the best of me.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
It’s a Duo Partnership of two and we’re part of YBC ( Young Bread Chasers), also known as YBC Company. It’s more than what you make it. We specialize in outside sceneries, portraits, and BTS. Although we’re still new starting off, we’re progressing and that what makes me proud because although we don’t have all experience everyday we’d finding ways to get the exposure and experience. Anybody can take a picture but it’s the photographer’s eye that sets the tone. Everybody has a different eye.
A different type of creativity, and a certain way they do things. For me, it’s all about setting the vibe. When it comes to doing photo shoots, it’s more than just about the money for me. I love seeing people’s reactions when they see how Beautiful/Handsome, they are in pictures and the authenticity of feeling their happiness through the smiles.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love most about Atlanta is that you will never know who you could meet the day you step out. Atlanta is a city of opportunity; it’s like a Jungle Gym for creatives. Everybody can be somebody and anything they want to be. There are so many people that share the same. The interest here and when you put those great minds together, it is epic. The culture here is like no other. The thing I like least about our city is that people are so fast to support only the people and brands that are the most popular leaving the little people less Opportunity but there’s always a day of sunshine to make it to the Top and Shine.
