Meet Dominique Henderson of Rite Time Move in Suwanee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Henderson.

Dominique, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am 6’2”, 230 pounds and a former athlete. My family and friends always refer to me as a “Go Getter” and truly believe that I am destined for greatness. I’ve always enjoyed helping people because I take a lot of pride in caring for others and their possessions. Naturally, I would be the first person that my family and friends would call to help them move. Most people would think “how annoying is that?” Not me! I truly enjoy it and want to ensure that the belongings of those close to me get from point A to point B safely and with care. As a matter of fact, I prefer to be the one they call because I am very meticulous about making decisions and have a skill set when it comes to loading and unloading trucks. It’s a priority of mine to make sure everyone’s assets are delivered to their location in the same condition when picked up. I’ve always trusted myself rather than having people I know use the service of contracted guys that may or may not care about their belongings. Eventually, I thought why not turn my passion in to a business and not only help my family and friends but also others in my community?

About 3 years ago, I finally started my business, “Rite Time Move”. There I was a first time entrepreneur, a full time student and a full time employee. How was I going manage my business accordingly? I spent countless days figuring out the best ways to market my business against the many competitors. It took a lot of patience but after a few months, the phone rang and I landed my first job. It happened to be a big one! Boy was I excited. This particular job was a move/junk removal job that my team and I completed all in one day. That was when I thought, we should expand our services across all products. I looked forward to breaking through the “glass ceiling” and broadening our horizon. My goal for Rite Time Move is too add some new flavor to the moving industry, showing our competitors we are here to stay!

What sets us apart from the competition is that we truly understand that our customers have entrusted us with their valuables and sometimes very expensive items which require a gentle hand. We take pride that out of all of the other moving companies, our customers have chosen “Rite Time Move”, We truly appreciate our customers giving us the opportunity to get the job done and in turn we want them to know they made the RITE choice.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Just like any new start up, in the beginning, we struggled to get our name out there. However, we have seen a steady climb in our company over the past few months. Our customers have been giving us positive feedback and have given us great referrals. Calls are now coming in from new and repeat customers. Averaging three to four jobs a week, we are meeting new clientele and gaining more positive recommendations. Recently, we’ve earned contracts to work with retailors such Louis Vuitton and Express. In the moving industry you have to be reliable and dependable at all times. We like to prepare ourselves by staying fit, eating right and learning new techniques that are beneficial in our industry. While approaching every move differently, we use advanced technologies and provide solutions to handle every move correctly. We pride ourselves to surpass all expectations, that way our customers are stress free during their move.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Rite Time Move – what should we know?
First and foremost, we are a moving company but we also specialize in junk removal, furniture deliveries, scrap metal pick-ups, etc. We stand out from our competitors by putting our customers first. It’s always important for us to ensure our clients during each step of the moving process that our goal is to serve them by taking care of their belongings. There are no short cuts when it comes to Rite Time Move. We work at a safe and steady pace and never get overwhelmed. Our goal is to build long term relationships with our customers because at the end of day it’s all about them.

In Atlanta alone, the demand for moving is high and competition is heavy. Being in business for over a year, our company has been able to gain a piece of the market and we want to take full advantage by guaranteeing great service.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have to give most of the credit to my family for initiating my journey to what would eventually become my passion and then turning that passion into an awesome business model.

Where do you see your industry going in the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes or trends, etc.?
We are challenging ourselves to be the premier moving/junk removal company in Atlanta. Our goal is to have a facility where potential clients can come in and discuss their next move with one of our representatives. We are also looking forward to providing controlled climate storage units, boxes, wrapping supplies; etc.  The mission of Rite Time Move is to make sure moving is a convenience for our customers.
