Meet Don Wardle of Peach State Tutoring and Test Prep in Johns Creek and Alpharetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Don Wardle.

Don, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was looking to start some type of business to grow and give back to the community as well. I wanted to use the skills that I had learn over many of my years in business and running businesses for other people. Using my sales skills as well as my marketing skills. When we started the business, things were beginning to change on how to promote a business. Moving away from mail and print and moving to online. I put a lot of effort into being found online. I also did what many people in the business told me I could not do and that was to form partnerships or relationships with the schools.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it has not been a smooth road. We start almost seven years ago and we have gone through a down economy where people have lost their jobs and our business is all about parents being able to pay for their children getting help with their academic life. Also, finding highly educated people to be effective at teaching students.

Peach State Tutoring and Test Prep – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are known for tutoring and test prep for private school and college entrance exams preparation. We hire only tutors who have a Masters or PhD and teaching skills. Many of our tutors are college teachers or college professors. We are proud of how quickly we can help students. Many of our competitors will tell a parent that their student will need from 30 to 100 lessons to achieve their goals. Most of our students can work hard and accomplish their goals in less than 12 lessons. We have seen many of our students get scholarships to schools that would have been difficult for the families afford without the scholarship. We have had more than one student that have received over 200,000 dollars in scholarship to attend a particular college or university.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Watching students go thru the program and then seeing them graduate from college and move into a successful career. We were only a small part but we were a part and it makes you feel great.
