River’s Bend Winery and Vineyard is a family owned and operated business. Developing award winning wines that linger long on the palate are their passion and hope you’ll agree they are the tastiest in their area. Some of their juices are from Georgia grown fruit and others are imported from vineyards in California, that is why they are able to offer varietal type wines as well as Georgia grown fruit wines. Donald is the owner of River’s Bend Winery and Vineyard and was raised in Columbus, GA. As a young adult he ventured out to Texas where he meets his wife Lee and raised his two children. While in Texas he started to develop a taste for the local wines and started to visit wineries every chance he got. Eventually he started to learn how to make his own wine and decided he wanted to open his own winery. He decided it was time to move back to Georgia and found this quaint little piece of property in Troup County. Sitting on 10 acres is his winery, ran by himself, along with a small blueberry orchard and vineyard.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a small business owner, there are many challenges that include: Learning the market, learning to be a Viticulturist, getting the word out as a new Winery in Georgia, and time management since we are a small family owned and operated establishment.

River’s Bend Winery and Vineyard is a Georgia Farm Winery, Manufacturer, and Distributor.
The best part about our winery is that we are completely Muscadine Free, we do not make it nor do we sell it. We pride ourselves on making amazing fruit blended wines and Traditional Varietal Wines; such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Rieslings.
We also just bottled our first Estate Wine, Blanc du Bois, this will be our signature wine as it is grown on our property.
