Meet Donnah Wilson of Resurrection Medical Mission

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donnah Wilson.

Donnah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Many, many years ago my kids introduced me to foreign missions. When my four kids were teens and pre-teens, they wanted to go on mission trips. We could not afford to send all of them on mission trips so we started an organization in our church, called Mission Trippers, to raise money to send our church members on missions. And, of course, if the kids were going on mission, I wanted to go with them. They are now in there 40’s and I still have that passion to do God’s work on foreign soil.
At 73, God is sending me more than He ever has to accomplish His work around the world. Since He started Resurrection Medical Mission 3 years ago, my travel has almost exclusively been in support of our mission of bringing health and hope to God’s people through our mobile medical clinics.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life without struggles is life without lessons, and I don’t think that’s the way God intends us to live. So, yes, there have been struggles, but all to the glory of God. The first struggles were about getting on the same page with God concerning what this vision was to look like and when it was to launch. There were people who discouraged earlier versions of this mission, but in retrospect, I believe God planted them there to guide Resurrection Medical Mission (RMM) to where He wanted it to be.
Struggles after the inception of Resurrection Medical Mission mainly involve keeping up with the vision financially. The challenge of keeping up with the medicine and equipment needs and desires of our medical clinics is a constant struggle. Our doctors and medical staff are always increasing the number of patients they treat and are always excited to add new equipment to make their treatments more effective. Having the funds to fulfill all that God puts in our heads and on our hearts to provide for His people is a challenge we gratefully accept. We know that if God gives the vision, He will provide the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The first seed that God planted which eventually lead to Resurrection Medical Mission was many, many years ago in a remote village in Honduras. One year, when our mission team was working with this small village, we developed a close relationship with a family there. The next year we were excited to go back and see that family again. When we greeted our special family we realized that one of the daughters was not there. We innocently asked, “where is she?” The father tearfully related the story. She had stepped on a thorn. He scooped her up and ran as fast as he could to get her to the nearest medical care. No medical care was within reach. His daughter died in his arms on the way. God pricked my heart as I wept for this precious family.
After many pricks, starts and stops, God’s timing settled on Resurrection Medical Mission’s birth in 2023.
Resurrection Medical Mission is a non-profit that establishes mobile medical clinics on foreign soil which go into remote and under-served areas of the world to provide medical care to those who do not have access. We employ local doctors, medical personnel and drivers to staff our mobile clinics. Our teams provide health and hope, both medically and spiritually. We know that healing is more than medicine, it’s compassion, it’s care, it’s love in action. They come to our clinics with despair and leave with hope. They come with pain and leave with the knowledge and medications that will soon relieve that physical pain, They come with lost hope that God sees them and leave with the knowledge that God loves them and cares for them.
Our Resurrection Medical Mission mobile clinics are the fulfillment of a God inspired dream to bring health and hope to His people. Our dream is to open a new mobile clinic in 2026, we are just waiting for God to confirm the location and put the right people in our path.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
God has brought together an amazing team of people to work together to make RMM a mission that has touched the lives of thousands upon thousands of people. If I named one person who deserves credit I would need to name 100’s. Suffice to say, that the servants He has brought together, on the USA team and on the local teams stationed at each of our foreign mobile clinics have been hand picked by God Himself and serve for His glory each day.

Pricing:
