Meet Donovan Reynolds of Coldwell Banker in Morningside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donovan Reynolds.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Donovan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story is one of great heartbreak and even greater triumph.

I’m originally from Augusta, GA but I have been living in metro Atlanta since elementary school. Growing up, it was just my mom, brother, sister and I. Growing up in a single-parent household had its challenges, as it was tough to live on a teacher’s salary, but my mom is my hero. She’s made countless sacrifices to make sure our family was taken care of and for that, I’ll always be grateful.

I started becoming interested in real estate during my second year of college. A friend of mine introduced me to something called “wholesaling” real estate. If you don’t know what it is, I suggest looking into it. It’s pretty interesting. Pairing that with my customer service background for the Hawks/Falcons and my love for HGTV pushed me towards real estate.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Over the past couple of years, I’ve dealt with issues ranging from depression, homelessness, school, hunger, family health issues, mold, etc. But I’ve also been able to attend events like NBA All-Star Weekend and the Super Bowl so it’s truly been a rollercoaster.

The biggest thing is that I never let my circumstances define me or change me. I just used them as fuel to improve and better myself instead.

Please tell us about Coldwell Banker.
I love being a real estate agent affiliated with Coldwell Banker. As an independent contractor, I get to run my own business while working under one of the top real estate companies in the world. It’s truly a win-win.

I specialize in luxury Atlanta properties but I work with people at any price point and most metro areas. When I started working, my first jobs in high school were for the Atlanta Hawks and Falcons in guest services. That’s what I’d say sets me apart from other agents. Most real estate agents don’t come from a world-class customer service background.

I’m really proud of the relationships that I have built over the past couple of years because that’s what it truly comes down to. At the end of the day, it’s not about money or notoriety. It’s about helping people and guiding them through one of the biggest moments of their life.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory has to be my first Atlanta Hawks game. I love sports. Walking into State Farm Arena, formerly known as Philips Arena, for the first time was truly an amazing experience. I remember it like it was yesterday, Hawks vs. Jazz.
