Hi Dorothy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
What’s up, Kingz and Queenz! For those just tuning in, I’m Dorothy Inez Fobbs – Phenom D.I.V.A. – living in Stone Mountain, Georgia by way of Decatur, Illinois and Hampton, Virginia. Voyage Atlanta featured me back in 2021, and a lot has evolved since then. Still Just Another Queen From Around the Way – but I am renewed, evolved, and sacredly divine. Over twenty years of service in the mental health field. A BA and two Master’s degrees later. Life Coach. Creative Spiritual Guide. Author. Advocate. Visionary. Moving to the beat of my own drum has always been my thing. And the vibration to that beat? It’s getting stronger.
Here’s what nobody tells you about transformation: it doesn’t announce itself with trumpets. It comes quietly, in the middle of the night when you’re too tired to pretend anymore. When you finally admit that burnout isn’t a badge of honor – it’s your soul screaming for liberation. When we last connected in 2021, I was in that exact moment. Walking away from what looked good on paper but felt like death to my spirit. Reclaiming my voice. Rebuilding from alignment instead of obligation.
The Foundation
My story starts in Decatur, Illinois – a small industrial town where I learned early that I was different. Numbers followed me around. I talked to spirits and never questioned it. At age 8, my sister took me to the Lincoln Theater to see The Wiz – and something shifted. Watching Diana Ross as Dorothy, I saw myself on that screen. A Black girl discovering she’d had the power all along. That movie planted seeds I wouldn’t understand for decades. I spent over twenty years in social services and mental health work – earning my degrees, serving communities, doing the “right” things. But those spiritual gifts I had as a child? They never left. They just got quieter while I learned the clinical language, the assessment protocols, the professional boundaries.
The Awakening
Then came the burnout that changes everything. I had been the breadwinner, the one everyone leaned on, the strong one who held it all together. But strength without alignment is just exhaustion in disguise. That’s when my spiritual journey couldn’t be ignored anymore. What started as intuition during clinical assessments – those moments when I knew things I shouldn’t have known – evolved into something I had to honor. I stopped fighting it. Started developing it into SoulSpectrum™, my proprietary system combining numerology, aura readings, chakra analysis, and healing frequencies.
The Work
For the past four years, I’ve been conducting mental health assessments – work that sharpened my ability to see people. Not just symptoms, but souls. The light someone’s trying to hide. The gifts buried under trauma. The Queen or King they’ve forgotten they are. Now I serve as Services Coordinator II at Step Up On Second Street in Buckhead, working with our unhoused brothers and sisters – people society has overlooked but God has not forgotten. I’m gathering supervision hours toward my Licensed Professional Counselor licensure in 2026 while building my coaching practice as a certified Women’s Empowerment & Self-Worth Life Coach and SoulCode Reader™. These aren’t just jobs. They’re deliberate positioning toward The Crowned Queenz Village Foundation – my nonprofit vision for community empowerment and restoration at scale.
The Creative Fire
And through it all, I’ve been creating. When you’re aligned with purpose, creativity doesn’t wait for permission. I’ve published coloring books and journals already available on Amazon. But I’ve also got manuscripts ready or near completion: The Divine Mix Tape – a 40-year love story structured like music. Venus Rising – examining beauty standards and their cost. Dear Black Queen: Softness is Power – because we’ve been strong long enough. WHO KNEW… THE WIZ – my spiritual memoir proving the magic was always inside me.
The Emergence
What you’re witnessing isn’t me starting over. This is emergence after preparation. I didn’t lose time during those quiet seasons – I gained wisdom. I built systems. I created frameworks. I positioned myself strategically.2026 is my year of TRANSPARENCY – showing up fully visible after years of preparation. Visible leadership. Sustainable legacy. Real-world impact.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been smooth – but it’s been purposeful. One of the biggest challenges was learning to trust the quiet seasons. Growth doesn’t always look like movement. Sometimes it looks like stillness, discernment, and choosing alignment over urgency. There were years where I was creating prolifically behind the scenes – writing, developing frameworks, building systems – but nothing was visible yet. From the outside, it might have looked like I wasn’t moving. But internally, I was being refined.
Spiritually, I had to learn the difference between movement and alignment. There were seasons where everything slowed down, and instead of forcing outcomes, I learned to sit in uncertainty and trust the process. That period deepened my faith, sharpened my discernment, and strengthened my sense of purpose. I learned to recognize patterns, honor divine timing, and understand that preparation often happens in private.
Professionally, navigating burnout and rebuilding required hard choices – walking away from situations that no longer served me, even when it felt risky. Working with vulnerable populations while managing my own transformation demanded boundaries, self-awareness, and a commitment to not sacrifice my well-being for the work.
Creatively, the struggle was moving from accumulation to completion. I had manuscripts, journals, frameworks – so much created content – but I had to shift from being a channel to being a deliverer. That required different discipline and willingness to step into visibility before I felt “ready.”
But here’s what I know now: I didn’t lose time – I gained wisdom. Every struggle taught me something essential. The invisible seasons weren’t wasted; they were preparation. And now, I move with clarity, intention, and the kind of confidence that only comes from doing the inner work first.

My work exists at the intersection of mental health, spiritual development, and creative expression – and everything I do is designed to help people reclaim their sovereignty.
What I Do
I’m a mental health assessor, certified Women’s Empowerment & Self-Worth Life Coach, author, and spiritual practitioner who refuses to compartmentalize healing. Professionally, I conduct clinical assessments and work with unhoused populations at Step Up On Second Street – meeting people at their most vulnerable and helping them navigate critical transition points.
As a coach and SoulCode Reader™, I help women – particularly Black women – decode their cosmic blueprints, break generational patterns, and step into their power with clarity and intention. As a writer, I don’t just tell stories – I create tools for transformation: journals, coloring books, novels, spiritual curricula, and empowerment frameworks that people can return to again and again.

I specialize in helping people see what they’ve been conditioned to ignore: their patterns, their power, and their purpose.
I’ve developed SoulSpectrum™ – a proprietary system that combines numerology, aura readings, chakra analysis, and healing frequencies to reveal a person’s energetic blueprint and life path. I created the Royal Harmony Character Cultivation Framework to guide people through deep personal development using spiritual principles and emotional intelligence. These aren’t abstract concepts – they’re systematic approaches to self-knowledge that produce real shifts in how people move through the world.
My work translates survival into strategy. I help people understand why they keep ending up in the same situations, why certain patterns repeat, and how to break cycles that no longer serve them. I teach discernment, boundaries, and the kind of self-worth that doesn’t need external validation to stand firm.
What Sets Me Apart
I don’t choose between the clinical and the spiritual – I prove they’re inseparable.
My years as a mental health assessor taught me to read people, recognize trauma responses, and understand what drives behavior beneath the surface. My spiritual journey taught me to trust timing, honor the unseen, and recognize that healing isn’t linear – it’s cyclical, intentional, and deeply personal. My writing became the bridge: a way to document the journey, create replicable systems, and build tools that serve people long after our direct work together ends.
I also don’t perform authority – I’ve earned it. Every framework I teach, every system I’ve built, every book I’ve written emerged from my own navigation through burnout, spiritual awakening, grief, and intentional reconstruction. I’m not selling theory. I’m sharing what worked when everything else failed.
And I communicate differently. I don’t sanitize wisdom to make it palatable. I blend street intelligence with spiritual insight, meet people exactly where they are, and give them truth wrapped in dignity. People don’t come to me for comfort – they come to me for clarity. And they stay because they know I see them fully and hold them accountable with love.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of staying sovereign during the invisible seasons.
I didn’t perform growth for an audience. I didn’t rush visibility to prove I was still here. I chose alignment over urgency, depth over speed, and completion over constant content creation. I built systems, finished manuscripts, created frameworks, and refined my practice while the world kept moving. And now, I’m not scrambling to catch up – I’m stepping forward with a body of work that’s already complete, grounded, and ready to serve.
I’m proud that I didn’t compromise my vision to fit someone else’s timeline. I’m proud that I chose dignity, discernment, and long-term legacy over short-term validation.
What I’m Known For
I’m known for helping Black women remember they’re queens – not as a metaphor, but as a lived reality.
I help women who’ve spent their lives serving everyone else reconnect with their own needs, desires, and divine purpose. I work with women who are tired of shrinking, tired of performing, tired of waiting for permission to take up space. I give them language for what they’ve always sensed but couldn’t name. I help them understand their patterns, honor their intuition, and move with the kind of confidence that shifts entire rooms.
People come to me because they know I’m going to tell them the truth – even when it’s uncomfortable. They stay because I hold space for their whole story: the trauma and the triumph, the messy middle and the powerful emergence. And they leave different – not because I fixed them, but because I helped them remember who they’ve always been.
Everything I do – the clinical work, the coaching, the writing, the foundation I’m building – serves one mission: helping people stabilize, heal, and step into their power with sovereignty, dignity, and unshakable self-worth.

Yes – 2026 is my year of TRANSPARENCY.
For me, TRANSPARENCY means truth without fear, clarity in purpose, and alignment over approval. It means I’m no longer hiding, diluting, or explaining myself. It’s about being seen clearly – not because I owe anyone access, but because I no longer owe myself silence. I’m stepping forward with everything I’ve created, everything I’ve learned, and everything I’m called to do.

I’m currently a Services Coordinator II at Step Up On Second Street, working with unhoused populations in Buckhead, while pursuing my Licensed Professional Counselor licensure, which I’ll complete in 2026. I’m also formalizing my coaching practice into an LLC, creating a sustainable business structure that will allow me to serve more women at scale while maintaining the depth and personalization that defines my work.
