Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Alyssa Jones.
Hi Dr. Alyssa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was Raised in Beaufort, S.C., where I watched my grandmother mix plants and herbs in her kitchen to heal skin, hair, and body aliments for her neighbors and family. In 1989 after years of compiling a book of these same recipes of my grandmother’s secret concoctions, I created the cosmetic line formally known as “Grandma’s Secretes.” In September 2014, I was blessed to team up with a staff of holistic chemists and then I renamed the product line “LeLayah Cosmetics” after a nickname given to my deceased daughter Layah as a way of honoring her memory. Later in 2019, I realized that I had a true passion and love for “all things skin,” which lead me to establish and open LeLayah Health and Wellness, an all-natural and holistic body and skin care clinic. LeLayah Health and Wellness provides holistic and organic body and skin care programs founded on the principle of healing the body and skin from the inside out. The treatment protocols and products are organic, all-natural, and non-invasive and they enhance a specialize approach in total body detoxification to aide in total well-being of the inner and outer individual. I am located in the heart of Fayetteville, Ga., just minutes from downtown Fayetteville and Trillth Movie Studios, and I offer no wait time appointments, specially blended and formulated treatments prepared fresh the same day of your service, and an À la cart or customized skin care plan based on your individual needs.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The greatest struggle has been attracting a customer base from other areas in Georgia willing to make the drive to Fayetteville, GA. Because of my location, I am one of the best kept secrets in Fayetteville and most of my clientele live in the Fayetteville, Peachtree City, and Newnan areas. I would love to engage and offer my unique services to more of our citizens in Georgia.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I approach my work intuitively each time I have a client/patient before me. Realizing that each individual has their own unique experience and how they approach their skin care routine, forms the basis for my protocol when dissecting their individual needs. The approach affords me the opportunity to customize and adjust, if necessary, what the body or skin needs at any given point in the treatment plan. This makes my practice style unique and creative and completely unpredictable each time the client/patient has an appointment with me. The experience that the client is afforded is one of anticipation and creativity which offers them the experience of beauty and variety without compromising quality. What were you like growing up?
My love for chemistry manifested itself at a very early age. As a child, I was always curious about how things were structured and worked together to achieve a certain outcome. I was always taking ingredients apart to see how they worked on their own, as well as, combining them to discover what I would end up with.
