Meet Dr. Darlaina Rose of Darlaina Rose Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Darlaina Rose.

Hi Dr. Darlaina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I often say that my life has been a living diary, written in both roses and thorns, I grew up in a large family with 9 siblings and 2 devoted parents, and from a young age i learned resilience, faith and the importance of community. My journey has never been without challenges-I experienced a long marriage that ended in betrayal, seasons of cargiving through illness. I am the LIVING diary of the mad black woman, Tyler Perry did the movie but I lived that life IN REAL LIFE! There were moments in my life i had to rebuild from the ground up. I often say if you haven’t had to start over at least once, we are NOT the same. Each hardship became a sacred assignment that pushed me to heal grow and step into my purpose.

My path into healing and empowerment wasnt something i planned-it was something i lived. For decades i have been walking alongside women, helping them to release emotional pain, reclaim their power and rise into the fullness of who they are. That passion led me to The Darlaina Rose Foundation Inc. which supports women in the US and Nigeria with education, entrepreneurship and and empowerment. It also inspired birth of the Healing House of Roses, a vision for a holistic retreat space where women can find rest, wholeness and restoration.

Alongside my non profit and healing work, Ive embraced storytelling as a tool for transformation. From my daily Law of Attraction calls daily 7 days a week across social platforms and zoom, to my talk show I survived toxicity, to my upcoming book my 3rd Graceful Warrior, my goal has always been to show women no matter what they have endured they can turn their pain into purpose and their wounds into wisdom.

Today at 60 years young, i stand as a mother, grandmother, author, speaker, and healer, But more importantly, I stand as proof thats its never too late to BLOOM again. Every chapter of my story has led me here and I am committed to using my voice, my platforms, and my life to help other women rise! To help women stand on their own two spiritual, emotional and financial feet!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth Road? Ha!! It has definitely not been smooth. My journey has been marked with valleys as much as mountaintops. I was married for 27 years, i know i look 27! During that time i was faced with infidelity, betrayal and even the heartbreak of raising a child for four years only to discover that he was not my husbands child as we were led to believe. Thats was tough. When my marriage was ending, he asked for a divorce. He wanted to be a bachelor he said. We had married so young we missed that part. Right in the middle of our 7 month separation my former husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer- and despite everything i returned to care for him and with my Holistic knowledg and a Big dose of GOD he regained his health. Talk about hard seasons of life that one was one of the hardest!

There were also financial struggles, rebuilding my confidence after divorce and learing how to navigate being both a provider and nurturer for my family. As a mother, grandmother, and now great grandmother there were times i questioned if i could carry it all.

But every challenge became a classroom. The betrayal taught me forgiveness. The caregiving taught me compassion and a skillset i know use for others, The financial setbacks, bankruptcy and foreclosure taught me creativity and resilience. And the constant pushback I sometimes faced from my own family taught me to stand strong in who I am.

The truth is, my road was full of thorns- but those thorns shaped the Rose I have become. Darlaina Rose the late Dave and Sandy Martins Daughter. I am so proud to be their daughter..

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are rooted in growing up in a big family with nine siblings. Our home was always full- full of noise, full of laughter and full of love. My family played pinocle, drank beer (aunts and uncles on the weekends) out of tupperware cups, played jacks until 100 games, hula hoop, double dutch, red light green light, mother may I. If you know you know!
That environment taught me early on the value of community, resilience, and finding your own voice in the midst of many.
I also remember my early fascination with beauty and fashion. Even as a little girl, i was captivated with fabric, style and the way clothes made you feel. My mother used to buy fabric for me $1 a yard from jo mar and i would sew a full outfit for school. I went to modeling school at 12 yrs old, i love a good walk in a fashion show! All this led to me all these years later to grow my love for fashion creating my own fashion and accessory line called Afrosexxi TM that is set to debut at NY Fashion week 2026!

Looking back, those childhood moments weren’t just memories – they were seeds. Seeds of creativity, of strength, of faith and of a desire to serve and uplift others. They’ve blossomed into the woman I am today.
