Meet Dr. Hope Stoney of Hope Health & Wellness Center in Southwest Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Hope Stoney.

Dr. Stoney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child growing up in Charleston, SC, I have always known that I wanted to be a doctor and help those who were in need. I’ve always had a passion for others and being able to help people always gave me a sense of fulfillment. After exploring different avenues and opportunities with the medical field, the doors to what I thought I wanted to do in life all seem to close. It was a discouraging process and I did not understand why while going through the process of not knowing there was something greater waiting for me. It wasn’t until I was introduced to Chiropractic that my world started to change. I started under chiropractic care and it was my doctor that gave me the opportunity to ignite my passion in giving me a direction of where I was destined to go. This was the way for me to be able to express my passion in a caring, compassionate and natural way.

I moved to Atlanta in 2011 to embark on my journey to make a make a dream a reality. The road was not easy but it was well worth the fight. As a graduate from Life University in Marietta, GA, I was given the tools to be able to perfect my craft and expand my knowledge of what I now face on a daily basis. Witnessing lives being transformed right in front of your eyes is an amazing feeling that one can not explain. It is truly rewarding.

I do believe that there is an ultimate plan for your life and there are no mistakes that are made when getting to and fulfilling your purpose. When one door closes, there is always another that opens. Being able to do what I love the most while having the opportunity to change lives in the process is my purpose.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to being a business owner has not been a smooth road. Starting your own practice in a new area takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and determination. Some of the struggles that came along the way was being told NO. Repeated rejections leave you with a feeling of disappointments and waiting to give up. However, I made sure that I took it as an opportunity to keep going. For every no that I received, there was a constant reminder in the back of my head that there is someone out there with a YES.

Please tell us about Hope Health & Wellness Center.
Hope Health & Wellness Center was birthed after much thought and consideration of wanting a place of my own to serve individuals through health. Being in the field has allowed me to look at health and the needs of the people I serve in a different way. As a business owner in southwest Atlanta, it is my responsibility to educate the community about the importance of chiropractic and health. I opened up my practice on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Southwest, after realizing the need of the area for a positive change towards health and wellness. We specialize in those who have been involved in an auto accident (personal injury), hurt on the job (worker’s compensation), suffer from bodily pain and/or want to maintain their overall general health, we serve everyone!!

As I walk into the office every day, I am most proud of the fact knowing that I am able to help someone that particular day. Every day is different and having the opportunity to be able to see a smile on the patient’s face after receiving care, versus the pain they felt when they first walked through the doors is an extraordinary moment for me. The thing that sets me apart from others is that fact that I make sure that my patients are comfortable with me before, during and aftercare. Knowing that I am a doctor, I make sure that I make myself relateable with my patients. Going to a doctor’s office is a stressful event in itself. My patients feel like they are home every time they walk through the door. They know that they can call on me when they are in need.

At Hope Health & Wellness Center, we believe in taking control of your health and embracing life.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is having the opportunities to be able to travel the world and experience different cultures and places. I do believe this is where my love for traveling flourished.
