Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jane Grant.
Dr. Grant, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The Blooming Herbalist Apothecary started while I was completing my doctoral degree in physical therapy and was searching for something to expand the ways I could assist myself, family, and future patients in living holistically happy lives. I found myself in a program that did not fit the person I was growing into and was craving connections with other like-minded individuals that believed in holistic techniques and tools to elevate the lives of those looking for overall health. I began studying meditation, yoga, Reiki energy healing, and herbalism as a way to heal myself and manage my stress levels. Herbalism became my second university as I would leave classes and study sessions in my physical therapy program to apprentice at a local herbal apothecary in my quest to grow as an herbalist.
I began to share the herbal knowledge I had obtained with my friends, family, and my social media following in a quest to help people combat the common cold and flu. After an outpouring of interest in herbal remedies and natural alternatives, I began to blend products for people across the country and finally took steps to open my online apothecary. Now, The Blooming Herbalist Apothecary is an all in one online shop where you can buy herbal products, get custom herbal products, obtain energy healing services, and learn simple techniques to expand your wellness practices using plant medicine and metaphysical tools. The Blooming Herbalist Apothecary was always apart of my long term plans but sometimes things happen quicker than we expect.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey has been a long and interesting one that has definitely taught me a lot about myself and business as a whole. There were many challenges in growing and creating a foundation for my business as I was still completing my formal education, studying for my licensure exam that would allow me to practice physical therapy, and enter the professional workforce as a new grad. I met many obstacles that I didn’t even know existed but they have all been lessons for me. Some struggles come up for me in the form of time management and learning how to create a following and social media presence. Community building is a big cornerstone for my brand and business, which has taken the time and multiple failed techniques/attempts to successfully create. Every obstacle has been exactly what I needed in order to strengthen my business and build an even more stable and sustainable foundation.

The Blooming Herbalist Apothecary is an online herbal apothecary that specializes in herbal-based products, including teas, tinctures, tonics, skincare products, and oils to promote balance and optimal health. We offer an array of herbal services, including herbal consultations, yoni steaming, and custom products that can specifically address the needs of the consumer and their lifestyle. Energy healing services are a big speciality that we are proud of, including Reiki Energy healing, Akashic Record Reading, Oracle Card Readings, Heart Healing sessions, Past Life Regression, Intuitive womb healing, Inner child healing, Spiritual mentorship services and Mediumship.
Due to COVID-19, we have specifically focused on immune system support and plant medicine to aid the body in protection and healing after an illness. Our online educational program has emerged through the pandemic to empower our tribe with the knowledge and tools they need to maintain their mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health during this turbulent 2020 year. We pride ourselves on making healing tools and resources that are accessible to BIPOC regardless of sexual orientation, socioeconomic limitations, and gender identity.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have so much planned for the future of The Blooming Herbalist. The name of the apothecary stems from my desire to continue to learn and bloom into my herbalism role through continuous education. With this continued learning, I plan on expanding our services to specifically address the needs in the Women’s Health industry as well as supporting the LGBTQ+ communities. The longterm goal is to combine my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and career path with my business to create a holistic clinic, birthing center, and geriatric care center that will continue to provide an array of services and options to communities across the country.
