Today, we’d like to introduce you to Dr.Josephine Harris. Dr.Josephine was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Angela House.
Dr.Josephine, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
As a military spouse, I can say that I experienced some of the most amazing places in the world, such as Hawaii, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, and the Bahamas. It’s been a completely new experience for me, and I believe I learned a lot along the way and adjusted to the unfamiliar cultures and diverse backgrounds.”
I had been to unfamiliar places and experienced some culture shocks, but I gave myself more perspective on life outside American culture. As a military spouse, I believe life experiences and trying new things have opened doors to new beginnings for me. For example, I had an opportunity to complete her internship in South Korea as a Psychology Major and continue to pursue my dreams, that is, a person that empowers, inspires, and encourages others to live out their passion.
Proudly serving the Seoul Counseling Center in South Korea since 2018, I love helping people of all cultures, especially military spouses, because I know how difficult it is to struggle with knowing who you are and hiding behind the mask (which I call a shield of military shadow) and trying to find your self-identity while going through mental health challenges. When I began my journey as a military spouse, I lost myself in supporting my husband’s military career. I had to teach myself and develop the tools to find resources that helped me overcome them. Thus, I enjoy helping and giving individuals, especially military spouses, a platform to provide them with a voice, tools, and resources so that they can overcome mental health challenges and achieve personal and professional growth.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Angela House and The Speakers House incubator and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with The Speakers House incubator.
WOW! I am going to start by saying WOW- Win Opportunities Winners! This means that “The Speakers House Incubator,” by Angela, will allow you to maximize your public speaking potential and broaden your audience demographics. After completing this program, I learned how to enhance and implement new strategies for overcoming barriers and writing a compelling presentation with a clear and precise message and a solid call to action. This program helped to tune in my speaking skills and build more confidence to overcome my nervousness and stage fright that I get almost every time I speak on stage. In turn, I learned to use my voice effectively, to feel relaxed and more comfortable to connect with my audience even more. The Speaker House Incubator is a program you don’t want to miss! It helps me to obtain and sustain so many speaking opportunities. Thank you, Angela, for “The Speakers House Incubator.”
