Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Keisha Newman.
Dr. Newman, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am the oldest of three children. I remember as a little girl, I was quiet and reserved, yet very observant of my surroundings. I grew in a middle class family home. We didn’t have a lot of money growing up however, my parents went well over and beyond to provide a great life for my siblings and me.
After graduating from Forest Park High school back in 2002, I was unsure, uncertain, and confused about what my purpose in life was or what my next move would be as I embarked into young adulthood. All I knew was that I wanted more than what I had seen and experienced as a child, and now a young adult. I knew I didn’t want to be average or get trapped in a 9-5 job. I wanted to accomplish greater things in life but on a deeper level than what I had been taught to do so.
At that time, I had no desire to attend college but I knew I wanted money and success, so I decided to figure out how I could have all three. Money, success, and finding my purpose for living a fulfilled journey, called life.
I decided I was going to would try using the “faith” the church I grew up in told me I needed to activate God’s works in my life. By developing a stronger spiritual relationship with God and working hard, I went from not having enough clarity, no purpose for my life, to winning in life and business. I am truly living my dreams. You can go from struggle to strength, from pain to purpose and from misery to maturity just as I did.
My first thought was to become a nurse because I figured that would allow me to help others. As time went by, my desire to work in the medical field instantly left. In April, of 2003 I enrolled in GA MLS School, to begin my career as a Real Estate Agent. After the successful completion of the course and passing of the state board exam, it was official. My dreams towards freedom, money and success were slowly presenting itself.
It was the first time in my life where I felt a deep connection with divine calling and purpose from God. This feeling of completion started a fire in me that no one has been able to put out, still to this day.
With that same fire, I was able to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance from Georgia State University. Shortly after graduation, I passed my CPA exam and became a Certified Public Accountant.
Two and a half years later, I obtained my Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Georgia. The fire didn’t stop there. In 2018, I received my Doctorate. As a result, I am now Dr. Keisha Newman.
I was no longer the quiet, broken, confused and unsure girl from Forest Park. My dreams and purpose of God for my life had begun to take control and shape my mind, spirit, and soul just as I had envisioned it could. God has done a major transformation in my life. Now, I am aiming for the skies as I believe my life has absolutely no limits. The bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
At that point I decided, I was going to live the rest of my life listening to God’s voice and the next set of instructions for my life. I didn’t allow what others thought of me to stop me. I started learning to win and achieve the vast majority of my accomplishments in silence. Not many people knew I was working so hard at advancing my life as I was doing it for me, for God and to show my two daughters, Destiny and Kennedy what hard work, dedication, determination, discipline and commitment looked like “in house” and not just on tv.
As a result, of all the education and experience I’ve obtained over the years, I started my own Book Publishing Company and wrote my first book back in 2017, “The Real Winning Of Winning In Life And Business”. The success stories I shared in my book were of my very own personal life experiences. The stories are raw truth of my life testimonials, which will work for everyone and I give countless gems on how I overcame and won some of the toughest, hardest, painful battles of my life.
I am the owner of several businesses because I have a deep passion for learning, leading and collaborating with others to solve problems and creating the solution. My overall mission and objective in life and business are to reach as many people as I can.
I’ve learned many people never live out their purpose because they lack courage. I see courage as the audacity to maintain your stand no matter what comes against you. It’s knowing what you want out of life and being bold and fearless enough to conquer. Courage is grace under pressure. no one ever becomes a success without a good dose of courage. The enemy of courage is fear.
Sometimes God’s purpose for lives looks so gigantic that we sweat the small things instead of growing through life’s challenges. Oftentimes, Satan makes it seems easier to give up than to pursue our dreams.
As a result of my determination, dedication, discipline and commitment Dr. Keisha is the CEO of Keisha Newman Enterprises which is the Holdings company for its subsidiaries. To name a few Dr. Keisha owns and manages an Income Tax Franchise, Smoothie Franchise, Owner Of Multi-Family Units, Owner of 2 Freight Trucking Companies, Owner of a Property Management School, Million Dollar Real Estate Broker and a licensed General Contractor (Builder).
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to success has been extremely challenging however, I knew giving up was not an option. I knew God’s plans and the assignments that he has for my life were far greater than the trials and tribulations I’ve had to endure along this journey. I am here to share my story, all because of His grace and mercy. I am very successful in business only by the grace of God.
Please tell us about your business.
I have a love for bringing others together to take action. Again, my mission in life is to reach as many people as I can to take action. I have served as a Million Dollar Realtor–Broker for the past six years. I CREATE. I TAKE RISKS. I LIVE ME PASSION. I create opportunities for others. I take risks and I coach people on how to attract wealth and create wealth using the gifts and talents God has given them just as I did for myself many, many years ago. I give my clients experience, an experience of excellence. What sets me apart from other entrepreneurs is the burning desire I have in my heart to help and impact others. The connection is most important to me, everything else flows from the connection, experience and impact I’m able to give all that come in contact with me. I am very big on giving out positive and welcoming vibes.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was playing softball for the North Clayton Eagles at the recreation center. I loved playing softball. I thought I was pretty good at it. Both of my daughters play softball as well. I’m assuming it was because of all the fun stories I talked about with them when I was younger playing.
