Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Melissa Briscoe Lamarche.
Dr. Melissa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am passionate about helping people achieve their optimal health. I have worked in the health field for over 20 years and have helped hundreds of people reach their personal health goals. My journey began in high school when I became interested in sports medicine and started taping ankles for the football team. That interest blossomed into a passion to help people perform better and live healthier lives. Before becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, I worked extensively in the fields of sports medicine, physical therapy and personal training. I hold multiple board certifications in the field of human performance and sport. I have also completed a 1 year fellowship in clinical nutrition and functional medicine. By practicing multiple skill sets, I have a unique opportunity to help people from all walks of life overcome various injuries, surgeries and health challenges.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think any road is completely smooth. Yes, there have been struggles along the way to get where I am today, but I don’t focus on the struggle, I focus on the goal. When the goal is the focus, the struggle fades away and success is the only outcome you see.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Dr. Melissa Briscoe Lamarche – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have what many call a “boutique practice.” My typical appointment is not what most consider to be the current norm in health care. My practice is more like one from days gone by, where the doctor actually spends time with their patient to build a trusting and lasting relationship that maintains health through each stage of life. My 3 pillars of health are chiropractic care, exercise and nutrition. The three pillars allow my patients to create a strong foundation of health that can be maintained long term.
I specialize in facilitating appropriate posture, functional movement and core strength. By utilizing my foundation in sports medicine, I am able to help my “urban athletes” perform at their best, prevent injuries and live their best life.
I am known for being transparent with my patients. If someone has a question or concern I openly answer and discuss the topic with them. Candid conversations allow my patients to learn the most about their bodies and how they can be healthier.
As a practitioner, I am most proud of the multiple successes my patients have had. By utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, I enable each client to reach their goals.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Plans for the future are to move into a bigger space where I can support a personal training facility. My original intention of going to chiropractic school was to incorporate training and chiropractic. I am working to realize that dream.
