Meet Dr. Natasha Ramsey of Brave Spaces Counseling & Consulting, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Natasha Ramsey.

Dr. Natasha Ramsey

Hi Dr. Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as a neuropsychotherapist began at Emory University, where I had the privilege of providing neuropsychological assessments for individuals facing neurological disorders. Each moment spent there was special, as I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of finding accurate diagnoses and crafting personalized care plans. The profound impact of this work inspired me to establish my private practice, where I continue to support both trauma survivors and those navigating neurological conditions. It’s a deeply fulfilling path, and I’m passionate about helping my clients reclaim their lives and thrive.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The path to becoming a neuropsychotherapist has been far from smooth. Balancing work while meeting state licensing requirements often meant sacrificing precious family time. Just as I opened my practice, the pandemic hit, and the devastating killing of George Floyd shook our world. These challenges tested my resolve and compassion in ways I never anticipated. Despite these hurdles, each struggle has fueled my commitment to clients and deepened my understanding of resilience and healing. My soon-to-be-released memoir delves into these experiences, sharing my professional journey and the personal growth and lessons learned. My story offers inspiration and hope to those facing their challenges.

I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Brave Spaces Counseling & Consulting, LLC? Please tell us more about your work or organization. What should we know?

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One of the most surprising things people might learn about me is the trauma I had to overcome personally. While I dedicate my professional life to helping others heal, my journey is deeply intertwined with my own experiences of trauma. This personal battle has shaped who I am and fueled my passion for work. Facing and overcoming my trauma was a daunting and painful journey. It taught me resilience, compassion, and the profound strength of the human spirit. These experiences have given me a unique perspective and a deep empathy that I bring into my practice daily. I share this part of my story to encourage anyone struggling with their challenges. Healing is possible, and your experiences can become a source of strength and wisdom, no matter how painful. My journey through trauma has not only made me a better therapist but also a more understanding and compassionate person. If there’s one message I hope to impart, it’s this: you are not alone, and your struggles do not define you. They can become the foundation for building resilience and finding your purpose.
