Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Dr. Jenkins lost both of her parents and raised her one and only sister since the age of 24. She managed to stay in school, work two jobs and successfully raise her 9-year-old sister, who is now 30 years old and holds an MBA in Non-Profit Management. Likewise, her sister was diagnosed with a Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 10. Dr. J worked with her sister, was persistent, applied holistic and natural healing practices to the disease and continually supported and encouraged her sister, such that, since the end of 2015, her sister has been able to manage her diabetes without needing to take insulin shots. She has endured several other difficulties and struggles but has always persevered. She lives by the motto of her undergraduate school, Clark Atlanta University, “I’ll Find A Way or Make One!” If it were not for her faith and this belief, she may have given up a long time ago.

Great Article and cover of Dr. J! She has helped me immensely, thus I know the value of her contribution to mental wellness and the community in general. Although I am still learning to “Embrace my Healing Power Within” I continue to be motivated by her positive healing spirit.
