Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Taunya Lowe.

Dr. Taunya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my consulting business to solve problems for my current client base at that time and I continue to be a problem solver and strategist on a national and international scale today.  Since college, I’d always had the dream of being a Consultant even though I had no clue what that meant. Little did I know, every job, every internship, every volunteer experience, every relationship, and every loss led me to where I am today. I like to think of it as my story of perseverance.

Has it been a smooth road?
OH NO!! …BUT STILL I RISE.   There have been many challenges on this journey. Health challenges, family deaths, losing 30K in my business at a critical time, financial challenges and the process of knowing when to pivot and recognizing when to get help.  Every bump in the road was a lesson learned and an opportunity for me to grow. The most meaningful pivots have been knowing that I had taken myself as far as I could and knowing when to seek help.

I’ve lived in Atlanta for more than 30 years. I’ve spent more of my adult life in Atlanta than my home town of Albany, GA. Atlanta is a city full of innovative geniuses, diverse businesses and amazing opportunities. Unfortunately, many times it is difficult to connect with who and what you need. I tell newcomers that Atlanta is a town where relationships matter so be intentional about creating relationships before “hitting someone over the head” with your business concept.  Relationships Matter!
