Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Chambers.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Drew. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved to Atlanta from North Carolina in 2015 after being on a television show that filmed for two seasons here in Atlanta. I decided to make the move to the big city from country life for more opportunity and growth. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I wanted to bring a service to the city that would make an impact on the lives of those within the community. Having a national platform on television allowed me to travel the country meeting those of all different types of backgrounds and visiting some of the most wealthy and impoverished cities and towns.
At the basis of everything I learned from my experiences, we are all the same and have a desire to feel needed, to feel loved, to feel like we matter. That’s when I decided that I would bring a high-end cleaning service to the city in a way that Atlanta has never seen. Coming home to a stress-free home environment is such a relaxing way to end the evening. But I wanted to go above and beyond. So that is where bringing in fresh flower bouquets, luxury chocolate truffles, and words of inspiration came into play. Sometimes we can have the crappiest day ever and our weeks are filled with frustrations. I wanted people to feel that even on their worst day, someone took enough time to think about them to bring positivity in their life and to build up their spirit.
I also wanted to simplify and streamline the home cleaning process. I don’t believe in paying extra to get extra done. So with our business model, I chose to charge flat rates based on bedrooms verses “quoting” pricing. People are busy. I look at having to wait to receive a quote as an inconvenience and prefer shooting it straight to the consumer. We also created As-Needed services along with discounted Membership plans so that there are options for every type of lifestyle. We also offer Meet and Greet appointments for those that prefer to meet who is cleaning their residence.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I initially worked on my business model and planning for a year before launching at the end of 2016 going into 2017. I went through various beta models regarding logo’s, website, etc. That was probably the biggest struggle as I am very much picky about aesthetic and the way something is presented to the public. Thankfully I can truly say it has been an exciting time and growth has been tremendous. The customer is always top priority and customer service and work ethic to me are deciding factors in the success and demise of a business. I pride myself on treating others the way that I would want to be treated by those around me. Because of this, I can say the Buckhead Butler has excelled by leaps and bounds.
Buckhead Butler – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I truly feel a seed was planted inside of my heart to bring forth a service in the city that would be a game changer in the way customers are treated. I grew up in a part of the country that creates a struggle to rise to the level of success that I wanted to attain along with the direction I wanted to take with my life. I am proud of the fact that I was able to step out on faith and take a chance moving to the big city and following my dreams. I always tell people that anything is possible when you put in the work to make it happen. When you follow your purpose, everything will fall into place and it will not come as a struggle. Doesn’t mean that the road is always easy, but I truly am humbled when I look at how far I have come with my business in such a short amount of time.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is defined not by material gain, but the wealth gained in knowledge of the world we live in, the family and friends whom we care for and love, what we hold as a foundation and what we stand for. When I leave this earth, I want to leave behind a legacy that will show the many lives that were touched through my purpose. That to me is success.
