Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Dawson.
Drew, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
A local Georgia boy who grew up in Sharpsburg/Newnan and moved to California over 15 years ago to find a life of artistic expression. Worked in photography for ten years in editorials and tv/film promotion. While looking for a better future plan, linked up with my friend and mentor, Adam Hendershott who started a mobile photography studio company and became a partner after a year of working full time.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a business is never easy but highly rewarding and comes with a sense of accomplishment when things are working/growing. Finding the delicate balance of making employees and clients happy while ensuring a top of the line high-quality product is the inherent challenge
Please tell us about The Headshot Truck.
I am the director of photography and focus on making sure the product maintains its style nationwide and all photographers new and old are trained sufficiently to achieve the needed results. I also develop new styles and ways to light the subject in a tight space to keep up with modern photography styles. I am most proud of the work Ive done in Atlanta to become the fastest growing city in our company over the last two years. Our company provides a service that others may be able to copy but our attitude and energetic interaction are unrivaled.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Cheesy answer is nothing, every mistake has been an invaluable lesson but if I had to answer practically, I would have gotten an MBA 4 years ago.
