Today we’d like to introduce you to E-Sharpe.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started at a young age, born and raised in Miami Florida. When I was 11, my mom wanted to move to Atlanta so we did. I immediately took an interest in the drums so my mom bought my first drum set after my little brother was born. I decided to join the band in school, and the director assigned me the flute during my first year. My mother made him put me on the drums because we couldn’t afford to buy a flute. The band director switched me to percussion immediately. I learned how to read music, performed at competitions, and marched parades.
Now, I am CEO of “Hear Forever Entertainment” and have a passion for developing artists to maximize their fullest potential. Not only do we want to be here forever, but we also want to hear forever!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I met my wife during college. She noticed I was slacking on my school work and skipping classes to work on music with my friends. She convinced me to drop out and move to Atlanta to be serious about my passion. The business was my struggle, I was making beats, the talent was being built, but there was something missing. While I was working at the airport, I would run into celebrities frequently and I began networking. Boosie’s engineer connected us and I got my first official album placement with Atlantic Records on his BooPac Album. I also linked up with Trina and we made my first commercial production together with the song and music video.
Furthermore, I decided to leave my position at the airport and start my own production company. That’s when I bossed up and took a leap of faith. With having my own company, I then realized how important customer service is. It is key when running a business because you always want to be in the best standing with your clients and the public.
Hear Forever Entertainment – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
“Hear Forever Entertainment” mainly focuses on production. We strive to have the best songwriters, producers, managers, etc. We are a one-stop-shop that is dedicated to fulfilling the artist’s wants and needs. We specialize in ear training, writing, drumming, melodies, artist development, and more. We also enjoy teaching clients how to use technology and music software. As a black-owned production company, I am proud that I can help my wife, family, and clients achieve greater success.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I feel like I have had good luck on my journey through life. My mother is from Miami and she always dreamed of living in Georgia since she was a little girl. If she did not move to Georgia, I probably would’ve never met the people I worked with or even love music. I remember another instance of good luck when I first met Jacquees. We went to eat at Benihana and they seated us next to him at the same hibachi grill. I didn’t know who he was but she did. She convinced me to speak to him and the rest is history.
