Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Ne’Cole.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I’ve always had fairly thick eyebrows. I was teased about my eyebrows and was often referred to by others as “Ebony with the thick eyebrows.” Lol, kids can be mean and I remember being offended by such a reference. I was ashamed of my thick eyebrows and knew that as soon as I turned 13 years old, I would be the first person at the waxing salon to get rid of my unibrow. Fast forward almost two decades later, and thick eyebrows are what the beauty industry craves. With a passion for beauty and fashion, I feel as though I was always destined to get my hands in the beauty industry and become an eyebrow artist and potential beauty influencer. I started doing my roommates’ eyebrows at home and the rest is history. On my journey to becoming one of the world’s most elite eyebrow artists, I have completed an eyebrow designing course at the Academy of Advanced Cosmetics and will be continuing my education in this fall.
As of today, I have serviced over 115 clients and I am beyond grateful that my clients trust me to deliver with all of their eyebrow needs.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting an eyebrow business has by far been a bumpy road full of obstacles and challenges. Some obstacles that I’ve had to face along the way are, for one, conducting a business. Being a business owner, especially in the beauty industry, I’ve learned that you are walking a thin line between helping and making people comfortable and being taken seriously. Another obstacle has been building a loyal based clientele. Consumers in the beauty industry tend to stick to what they know, so getting consumers to come see me again and again for their eyebrow services has been a challenge that has been worth the work put in to overcome.

Eyebrows are one of the single features that essentially shape your face. Originating in 2018, Ebony Brows aims to enhance beauty one eyebrow at a time, giving you bold and beautiful eyebrows forever. We specialize in microblading, eyebrow tinting, eyebrow extensions, and more. As a company, I am most proud when I have clients who express to me how a single microblading session or any other eyebrow service has given them a renewed sense of self-confidence. I am very communicative with my clients, keeping them informed on every detail of their service. I create an environment for my clients to feel safe and comfortable. It’s not just about the services being offered, it’s also about the one of a kind experience my clients have from the time they walk through my door and sit in my chair to the time they leave. I’ve had clients who tell me how they look forward to coming back because of great conversation and the environment. My eyebrow sessions are like self-care, girl talk, and therapy wrapped in one. This is the best part of providing such an intimate service.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I knew I was different. I’m naturally responsible. I am thorough and patient, but also endlessly curious. I was fearless and slightly rebellious. It was never hard for me to make friends because of my fun-loving and charming personality. My interests ranged from sports to barbie dolls. I was the perfect balance between tomboy and girly-girl. I enjoyed getting my hair pressed out and putting on dresses but I also enjoyed getting geared up for my rec center basketball games. I loved fashion growing up and I still do. I would put together the cutest outfits. From an early age, I’ve always known I wanted to have a clear function and play a meaningful role in the lives of others, which completely explains my occupation today.
